Maybe you should think about putting 141 before dialling the number. Yes you are right, there are two members of staff that I know of, who subscribe to this thread.    Smiley

How does dialling 141 before the geographic Sky number help?  Its surely the number one is dialling in on that alerts Sky staff to the fact that you have not called in on the officially authorised number and not the one you are calling from.

Or are you suggesting that Sky will claim you are in violation of their terms and conditions and impose a surcharge on your account if they can prove you did not call in on the officially blessed 0844 number?

And are you one of those two members of staff at Sky who are subscribed to this thread by the way. Wink Roll Eyes Lips Sealed

By dialing 141 first, your number is withheld, Sky will not know what number you are calling from ( Ithink that there is a way for them (Sky) to block calls if they think you are using a geo number), olus many people have their number wittheld automatically. Reason being the amount of people who could get thgough, then suddenly unable to, but other people canget through. Shocked No I am not one of those turncoats lol  Grin.

No, 141 stops Sky from knowing the caller's own phone number. It doesn't have anything to do with knowing what number the caller dialled. The latter will depend on how Sky's internal system works.

The point of using 141 is for calling organisations who have a geographical number for overseas callers. Some of them complain if a UK-based caller uses such numbers, so adding 141 can hide this fact.

Ultimately, if using a geographical number to call Sky means a different phone in Sky's office rings, or that it goes through to a different department, they will obviously know a different number has been used! 141 makes no difference!

I tried all the numbers posted on this thread and none worked so, by fluke, I had a guess and 01506831055 worked. I went straight through to an actual person!
Cool

Is it little wonder that Sky have now disabled all the numbers when posters put up all the numbers that are working for them, I am also guilty of doing this. There is nothing wrong with helping others, but maybe if four or five numbers work for you you should keep one to yourself, that way the same number isn't being hit all the time. One day someone will sus out the 'real' number/s.

All of the 01506 numbers that I've used before failed today BUT one of the numbers listed did eventually work although I had to navigate a couple of menus before speaking to an assistant.Just persevere! Wink

Hi Ive been reading all the comments about the 01506 numbers to use instead of the 0844 or 08457 numbers. Please correct me if I wrong but I assumed if you are a sky customer by rings the 0844 or 08457 numbers you wont be charged as they are free to sky customers.

If you not a sky customer you will be charged. Can someone please advise.

Many thanks rjgoody :question Smiley

I couldn't find any number for retail support. It all seemed to be sales and customer services.
