I've done some housekeeping with the Sky entries. All are now tagged with BSkyB, so a search of that will return only entries for Sky.

Numbers I've removed are as follows (all are "no longer available"):

01506 421884 Went directly into a queue to speak to someone
01506 831006 Requested telephone number
01506 421726 Was main customer service alternative

01506 677 000 is definitely the number to call.  I have been trying to use the Sky Moving Home number for two days and kept being put through to the engineers department, only to be put through to an engaged number or having the line dropped.

The scottish gentleman I spoke to on 01506 677 000 was pleasant, apologetic and dealt with my request very quickly, and not trying to put me through to another number or the Indian call centre!  And just to finish off, he offered me the full Sky package for half-price for 3 months £34.50 - so this definitely paid dividends for me! I just rang on the 01506 831055 number and got through immediately to an operator at the Indian call centre, no waiting in a queue at all Wink.

I told her my problem and stated that I was seriously considering moving totally away from Sky and she put me through to the team that deal with people wanting to cancel. I explained the problems I have been having which have been ongoing for over a year and after a fairly long period on hold - I got a result.

I hate to think how much this call would have cost, had I not been able to use the alternative number - so sincerest thanks to whoever posted this one Smiley. I am still new to this site so don't know if there is a way of thanking them personally? I am very grateful for the help.

I've just contacted Sky on the 01506 677 000 number and once I'd gone through all the "select" permutations, got to speak to a man in Livingston who was very helpful.

Thank you guys.
I just dialled the 01506 677 000 today (Sunday 21st Dec 2008) to request activation of Sky+ and my request was dealt with very swiftly.
The guy on the phone first tried to match up the card I now have, but without success, however, the new card will be delivered ASAP.

This is a great site, I will ba adding your link to all my emails........

P.s. I tried a lot of the previous numbers but they are no longer in use.

The number I first tried (advertised on my sky box) was 08705 800800 but when I rang this, it listed a new number: 08442 410800.
I was looking for an alternative for these numbers on the site but they were not listed, so thats when I thought I'd look on the forum.
If a moderator reads this, can you list the numbers on the main bit of the site please?

*** Its OK, I've just added it and its now an un-verified entry. Thanks

Just called 01506 677 000 and got through to customer services in India from the standard menu options and the fact I had called on the geographic number was not challenged at all.

However these cretins gave me the most unbelievable runaround about my wanting to come back to Sky and give them some of my hard earned money.  First I was told three times that this was a sales department activity and transferred to sales line in the UK who closed at 10pm.

Finally I rang back on 01506 677000 yet again and got a more helpful and intelligent Indian call centre worker (sounded as though he might actually have spent time in the UK or watch the odd English film and did not act like an emotionless robot as most Indian call centre workers tend to do) and when I told him how absurd it was that I could not resubscribe through my online account and that the program I wanted to watch was just about to start he decided he could after all manage to reactivate me, even though procedure was for me to have to speak to sales who were closed.

The only reason they want you to speak to sales is to try and sign you up for Sky talk and Sky broadband but as I live on a non LLU exchange they can only offer Sky Connect at £17 per month so I am not interested.  I am also not interested because I only ever to subscribe to Sky once a year for one month for the Dakar rally or sometimes in June for the Le Mans 24 hours.  And if you discontinue Sky tv and are a Sky broadband customer they then disconnect your broadband................. Shocked

020 7979 9500 is Open 24/7

The activation signal does not after all seem to have been sent out by India so I called 01506 677000 at 10.58pm only to find that it was closed, supposedly at 11pm according to the recorded announcement that was played to me. Huh

However knowing customer services at Sky is open 24 hours a day I looked up the other numbers listed on saynoto0870.com for BSkyB and found 020 7979 9500 in the Unverified list.  I called this and it led to a full IVR menu system that included various options including 3 for everything else and then another menu number for billing and accounts at the next menu.

After holding for 10 minutes or so I was connected to a very helpful lady with an Irish accent in a UK call centre who was able to look up my details and have the activation signal sent again.

So if you need to speak to Sky between 11pm and 8.30am then make sure to call
020 7979 9500
and not 01506 677000 as 01506 677000 merely plays a message saying they are closed at that time of day.

EDIT:- 020 7979 9500 also works during normal office hours Monday to Friday with precisely the same menu system.  However as I suppose it may take up internal voip bandwidth at Sky redirecting the calls to Scotland it is probably best to stick to the normal 01506 number between 8.30am and 11pm.  This number is listed at http://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/02079799500 as being an outgoing CLI number for calls by Sky Broadband.

020 7979 9500 has a male Scottish voice but 01506 677000 is the same lady as is on the 0844 numbers. So it would seem that 01506 is a more suitable alternative.

Having said that, numbers like 020 7979 9540 go straight to a Sky operator.
