The number +35381719819 can be dialled via 18185, 1899 or even if you sign up to Alpha Telecom, then you will be charged about 2p per minute.  The whole idea of using this international number was to circum vent the other non geographic numbers, however individual members are now finding geographic numbers.

The number is +353 818719822 which is an Irish 0818 number which is their equivalent of 0870.  Lips Sealed

+35381719819 . This number is listed on this site is a number for sky tv under the 01/02/03 column which I thought was free from my mobile minutes. My bill has come in and I have been charged international call rates !! My bill is over £100 !! Can this number be removed and is there any way I can get my money back ?!

As I said above, this is an Irish number as indicated by the +353. This means that it is an international number.

It is also a 0818 number which is their equivalent to the UK's 0870. So providers might charge above the rate they charge for a call to an Irish landline.

I am not sure why we are listing these rip-off numbers. I have removed this entry.

Presumably because some cheap UK call providers were letting you call the number for less than the 5p per minute to call an 0844. Wink

But they were clearly only meant to be used as a last resort if none of the UK geographic numbers for Sky were currently working.

Inevitably with this website now having a much larger and more unsophisticated user base any international numbers need to be hedged round with lots of caveats about them only being cheaper for some particular callers on landlines and never when called from a mobile phone.

Sky Now To Ripoff SkyTalk Customers Calling Sky
Reply #694 - Mar 24th, 2009 at 2:09pm

Anyone subscribed to this thread will I am sure be interested in the news that Sky is to start charging its own Sky Talk customers for calling Sky's 0844 customer services numbers in the weekday daytime.

Talk about luring people on to Sky Talk under false pretences.  Is there no limit to the depths to which Sky will stoop to try and scam its customers. Shocked Angry Smiley

See www.saynoto0870.com/cgi-bin/forum/YaBB.cgi?num=1237805462 to discuss this further.

Hi,

This number - 01506 831069 now simply chucks you out of the system, once you've pressed * * and selected option 1. It then tells you to dial the 08702 number!  Angry At least, that's what's just happened to me - 7:10pm on Friday 27th March 2009. However, if you select option 5, and don't enter any phone number, then it connects you!  Cool

Just phoned the 020 number for Sky as our Sky+ box is playing up. Asked to be put through and person on the other end of the phone refused. Said he'd spoken to engineers dept and he was told NOT to put people through but to give out the 0870 number.  Angry Thought people might like to know.

I just tried 01506 421722 but was unable to get through. It first asked me for my phone number and then said "transferring you to the first available representative", then stated that "this service is no longer available" and disconnected me.
