The 0800 number says it is "currently closed" at 10.09pm tonight.  Do we know what the expected opening hours are for this number?

I could not get any geographic number to work tonight so I would suggest anyone who has a problem that they need fixing by Sky now instead emails jeremy.darroch@bskyb.com (their CEO) with cc to crsupport@bskyb.com   I would list amongst the issues you have with Sky being forced to email them because calling Sky is now unaffordable to call for those not on Sky Talk. Also if you live on a non LLU exchange not served by Sky for cheap broadband indicate that you have no interest at all in joining Sky for calls and broadband at the present time because their £17 per month Sky Connect broadband on these exchanges is very poor value for money.

I am forced to telephone these lieing, cheating people because despite the Sky Pay Once Watch Forever website clearly saying for a long period in their Terms & Conditions that viewing cards would be replaced free of charge for 5 years from purchase if required on their replacement viewing card website at https://mysky.sky.com/replacecard/home it now says "old cards for Freesat customers will be inactive after 30th September" (at which point you will lose Five, Fiver, FiveUSA, Sky3 and SetantaSportsNews unless you get a new card) but it also says "If you bought a Sky box or viewing card only from Freesat from Sky after 1st May 2006 then you are eligible for a free card" (note this is still shorter than the promised five years that would take us back to 1st October 2004 mentioned in the original Sky Pay Once Watch Forever Terms & Conditions).  But when I tried to enter my mother's Sky Pay Once Watch Forever viewing card number from her November 2007 installed system Sky tried to demand £20 for a replacement card.  So now I have to email jeremy.darroch@bskyb.com with cc to crsupport@bskyb.com in order to get this simple task accomplished.Shocked Angry

Does anyone know of a more dishonest and devious organisation of this size in the UK apart from Sky.  I suppose some of you will immediately mention TalkTalk...............

The 0800 number is only 'open' from, as far as I know, 8'30 am - 10 pm.

I also tried at 9.45pm and it was closed then too.

I do hope that it has not been closed down permanently. Shocked Cry

You say that your time zone is GMT+2, but the UK is now on GMT+1. Going by your username, I presume that you are overseas, therefore you may be unable to call UK freephone numbers.

I have just tried it and it answers as "Sky" no problem. You can call UK freephone numbers using the dial through number 020 0222 0700. So call +44 20 0222 0700 and when it answers it will request the destination 0800 number, which you enter.  Wink

Hi Dave

yep, overseas, however I use Skype with a UK subscription and generally have no problem calling any numbers, even the 08442 (which is not possible from a non-UK landline)

I'll try it again...

Dialling direct through Skype, I get the "no longer in use" message.

Dialing through your other number, I get "department is closed".

Will try again tomorrow.

cheers

One thing I keep meaning to ask - how do people find out about these alternative numbers?

More information see Guide to finding geographical numbers.

The 0800 number was submitted to the database. Perhaps it is one that is given out by Sky for certain customers. Perhaps it is for internal use and posted by someone who works at Sky.  Undecided

Hi,

Does anybody have a new geographical number for Sky? I tried the ones listed in here and they all kept me on hold for a long time. When I gave in and called the 0844 scam number, my call was taken almost immediately.

The 0800 number went to India and she was unable to help me other than to say there was a letter in the post and to call 0844 when it arrives.

She didn't have a direct number the 'system had crashed'.

I asked for the address and got the London one - 98 Virginia St London

Many thanks

I see on the www.192.com web site their are two addresses and numbers

1 Brick Lane, Aldgate, London, E1 6PU

020 7377 6413

2nd Floor 123 Buckingham Palace Road, Westminster, London, SW1W 9S

020 7705 5000

Now, I am one of the few people in this world that does not have Sky, so not sure if these are any good for you.
