Dave - thanks. I tried your number (ending 706) and it worked whereas the 707 number has been withdrawn. Odd!! Are there other similar numbers too?  705, 704 etc?

Yes, they all belong to Sky. See my listing I did a couple of years ago (I expect that this is out of date now):

http://www.saynoto0870.com/cgi-bin/forum/YaBB.cgi?num=1060112694/340#340

Other number ranges to try are 01506 677xxx, 01506 8317xx and maybe others.

0800 046 8857 says that the number is now closed. However, 0800 046 8850 asks for the caller's telephone number. 0800 046 8851 has a menu on which might get you through to customer services.

Dave surely you should only give out numbers for Sky that still work one at a time since we know that as soon as Sky has identified them they then instruct their telecoms supplier to block them to further incoming calls.

I hardly think it's a state secret that dialling neighbouring numbers often yields other alternatives for a particular company. I said 8851 might get you through to customer services; those who are trying to contact Sky will have to try it and see and let us know.

All I know is that they don't answer with a Sky message saying that the number is "no longer available" or "now closed". When you select the relevant menu options they may just redirect you to the 0844 number.

Tried 01506 421 705 & 706 & 707 - 'No Longer Working' - was in a hurry so had to resort to published 08442 number given by greedy Sky  Angry

I suspect that 0800 046 8850 may be a way of contacting Sky customer services and will appreciate any feedback on this.

You are correct - after entering your details you have the full range of options

Perhaps Sky won't mind people using this 0800 number since it should still interface with their NTS call logging system and so be able to give them all the call statistics they want and also distribute the call to wherever they want using their normal NTS call handling systems.

Of course I'm sure that this is a very charitable view on my part. Wink

Thanks. This number is now listed in the database. I have removed 01506 421707 from entries.

01506 421732 still answers as "Sky Interactive" and requests the caller's phone number. Is this a suitable number to get to customer services?

I could tell you after 6pm when my calls to 01 numbers become free.  Can I take it that you yourself no longer have any any Anytime calls plan to call 01/02 numbers?

Regarding the wider 01/02 issue do we think Sky will ever get the message that not all their television customers can be expected to take their telephone service from them and hence that they must introduce an 03 number for customer service? Undecided

I would like confirmation that Sky customers can reach customer services from this number.

You don't need to be a Sky customer in order to be able to confirm this though.

The 0800 number works fine.  It reaches an automated IVR facility that asks for your phone number, postcode and date of birth and then puts you through to a UK customer service adviser.
