I assume that the number alluded to is 020 7365 2947. This does indeed answer with a IVR with the following options:

1. Buy a product
2. Discuss existing order
3. Help with a Sony product

This is the exact same IVR as is on 0845 600 0124.

According to the note in this entry, it was previously the case that the same IVR was also on 0870 511 1999, 01923 476425 and +353 1 413 1771.

The 01923 number is now not recognised and the 0870 and Irish number now go through to the "Sony Customer Information Centre" with the following options:

1. Television, DVD and Bluray
2. Viao computers
3. Cameras and camcorders
4. Other products

Interestingly, on the 0870 number there is a short burst of foreign ringing, which suggests that it is answered outside the UK and Ireland, although it is voiced by a British-sounding female.

Perhaps we can work out where this number is answered and hence find an alternative, although it may well be a non-UK geographic number.
