A small point about some of the Royal Bank of Scotland numbers listed. 08457 242424 does indeed have a number of geographic equivalents and these are in fact listed in my RBS cheque book.
However, 0800 602080 is not the same as 08457 242424 as it only allows a balance check and last 6 transactions, whereas the 0845 and its equivalents give access to a wider range of services.
Re RBS Royalties numbers, 0870 5625555 gives access to a range of services including both travel (which the 01536 goes straight to) and membership services (which the 0239 number goes straight to). RBS do advertise the 0239 as an emergency number for card loss but it is indeed membership services.
