Sony Vaio Link Line

Hi,

Does anyone have an alternative phone number for the Sony Vaio helpline.

The number they have listed on the website is 0870 240 2408.

I dialled the main Sony landline number listed on this site and the operator just gave me the 0870 2... number. The 0870 number is very busy and they keep you holding on whilst generating revenue.

Any help would be appreciated.

My suggestion, and I had to do this myself last week, is to call the geo number listed whilst either withholding your number or routing it through IP or something, and explaining that you are calling from overseas and that you can't call 0870. Be firm, be polite, and the operator can and will put you into the standard queue that you'd get from the rip-off number. If the first operator doesn't, call back until you get someone who will. Frustrating I know, but that's the best I can suggest. I can confirm that this is what I had to do last week (I live in the United States but needed to contact Vaio support in the UK). Alternatively, Vaio support is based in Belgium and I believe it has a standard Brussels number that you could use with a low cost carrier. I don't have the number to hand, but it's probably on the (very poor) web site.

Hi there,

If you call O1932 816-OOO this is Sonys head office, ask for Mathew Trigwe11 he is the Sony Vaio (something really senior) manager, and he does get things resolved!!!!)

The 01635 872777 works fine, but is just for consumer products, not Vaio.

Try 0207 365 2021, which is spares and accesories (Sony Style Store), The guy there put me straight through to the Vaio tech line! You still have to wait.....but it's cheaper!!

It's annoying when that happens, isn't it?

United Kingdom
0207 365 7870 for tape, file server, back up appliance or storstation products.
0207 365 7871 for support on all other Sony SES products.

Sony VIAO Link Number (08702402408)

Does anyone know the number for this?

Sony VIAO Link called 0870 240 2408
(its an automated system to enter your serial/case number and then you get through to a person)

The one listed on this web site  as sony VIAO support (0207 3652021) does not work its not the right number you cannot get through to anyone at VIAO support there Sad
Thanks

Hi all,

You might be searching in the wrong country for the VAIO numbers. When I emailed support a while back about a fault on my laptop, I got a call back from an Irish number - +35361366500 - and an Irish sounding person on the other end. Also, when I had to ring up the 0870 number (I missed the call unfortunately), I got through to an Irish person. The only problem with this number is it must be outgoing only, my mobile refuses to dial it (possibly because I have international calls blocked - not sure) and Skype also returns a "cannot call" message when I try. However, could be a start for finding the actual number for the call centre.

A cheaper way might be to ring their Irish support line - according to http://support.vaio.sony.co.uk/contacts/contacts.asp?site=voe_en_GB_cons&tp=vaio..., it is +353 1 407 3040 (aka (01) 407 3040 if you were ringing from Ireland). There are numerous cheap calling providers listed on the site - I'm not an expert on which is cheapest/easiest so have a browse around.

Infact, a possibly even better number to ring (as long as you can speak Greek...) would be from here - http://support.vaio.sony.co.uk/contacts/contacts.asp?site=voe_en_GB_cons&tp=vaio....

They list a number of  00800 numbers which are International Freephone numbers. This post (http://www.saynoto0870.com/cgi-bin/forum/YaBB.cgi?num=1145711648) contains more information about them. They *should* be free from a landline, but might be worth checking with your calling provider first.

The Sony VaioLink helpline can be reached by selecting appropriate options on 0330 440 2060 (Sony Customer Information Centre). Presently, it is option 2 (Vaio products) followed by option 2 (help with your Vaio).

This gets through to the same menu as on 0870 240 2408, 0870 240 2410 and +353 1 407 3040.

I've removed two verified entries and post them here for the record:

Sony IS Storage       0870 240 2410             020 7365 7871             Technical support/warranty line for all SES products excluding tape, backup appliance, file server & StorStation
Sony IS Storage       0870 240 2410             020 7365 7870             Technical support/warranty claims for all tape, backup appliance, file server & StorStation

They have the VaioLink 0870 number and as we have a direct alternative for it (through to the same menu), I have removed these. I am unsure as to whether there is a Sony IS Storage 08 number that these alternatives might work for.
