Unprompted, he said that local callers might have reason to be unhappy calling 0870 numbers, then he transferred me to the ticket office.
The Chief Executive quite clearly has been taken in by the spin and has not looked at pricing information. I despare when supposedly intelligent people continue the lie because they believe it because it has been told so many times.
Either that, or he is blatently lying to you.
