Iam trying to find the child support number for plymouth.
the number i have is 0845 609 0072.
if anyone knows the local number can you let me know.

Child Support Agency has a block of 01851 768xxx numbers for its IVRs (automated menus); ignore the fact that they are Isle of Lewis numbers, they could go anywhere.

The title of the thread is "Child support allowance" which does not bring up much, but in your posting you refer to the "child support agency".

You say that it is in Edinburgh, but do you have the full address?

Is there a website for this service?

I ask these questions because it might help someone find an alternative. Without them it is limiting the request to only those who "know" the number.

A couple of years back (see above) I discovered that CSA published alternative numbers, intended for overseas callers, but which work from the UK.

Each office has a number for maintenance calculated before and after March 2003 (not sure about that which was calculated in March 2003). There are, to the best of my knowledge, six offices, or certainly six which have alternatives each of which covers a portion of the country.

The Edinburgh PO Box 20 EH91 5BD is obviously not a physical location (as it's a PO box). It would appear that it is related to the Falkirk CSA office. The alternatives for that office are 01851 768061 for where maintenance was calculated after March 2003 and 01851 768083 for before.

Try whichever of these applies and let us know how you get on. Let us know which you tried (and which works, or not as the case may be).

I also do not have the address of the Plymouth child support agency.

After a bit of searching I came up with this page which is directed from www.csa.gov.uk

Then I clicked the "changes you need to tell the CSA about" link at the top, that took me to this page

I then clicked the "contacting the CSA" link and got to here

and then I clicked "if you are calling from abroad" at the bottom and got: +44 1851 768053 - which is 01851 768053

It's most likely a generic number, but I'd recommend calling it, and if they cause issues or refuse to help advise you are barred from calling anything other than an 01/02/03 number.

I don't belive it after 24 minutes on the phone getting through to Falkirk they hung up.
