Hi Guys, I sent a scathing email to geoff.brighton@ofcom.org.uk regarding, in my opinion, the unethical & immoral use of NTS (Non-Geo) 0845 & 0870 numbers. I'm sure many of you "old hands" probably have already done so also, since I got his email address off of another website condemning the use of these nos. It was a standard reply, sent to many complainers before I imagine. He claims a "value added service" offered by the use of these nos. E.g dial-up-pay-as-you-go Internet access allowing consumers to obtain value for money narrow-band Internet access without upfront financial commitment & without monthly subscription charges. Is this correct? He also stated that a 10 week consultation will be taking place towards the end of Sept. for any changes proposed for the "regime".(my quotation marks). He claims that investigations have not indicated any widespread misuse of NTS.
