There was a very helpful entry in the Unverified list from a person advising us that Avon Cosmetics switchboard in Corby, will no longer transfer callers to Customer Services, then . They obviously found it amusing, so let's see if we can wipe the smile from their faces !! 

Their NGN number is 0845 3458444, and the old contact was 01536 272000. If memory serves correct the last time I looked for numbers for this one, they could be from 272000 upwards.

I recently had to call Avon (as a rep) because as usual we find that their webiste does not "sing and dance" all songs and dances.  So we have to speak to someone, usually about orders or billing or such like.

Now, this can cost dear, even on the 0845 numbers given, still about 3p/min during the day, not free as it would be for a 01/02 number.

So, here are the geo numbers for Avon Cosmetics UK:-

Tel 01604 232425  (Ask for the department you want, eg Reps or Sales)
Fax 01604 232444 (Only seems to work 9-5)

Its as well to withold your number if its not witheld by default.

If they tell you to ring the other numbers tell them you can't dial 08xx numbers from the phone you are using (well, its nearly true, I just can't make my fingers do it!, although some phones, notably call boxes and extensions on some PABXs will have 08xx barred, so they don't know that thats true or not)

If you DO have to ring the 0845 numbers TIP, don't press any keys, let the machine think you can't use the keypad, that way it routes you to an operator quicker than going all through the IVR.
