Hi there can anyone help.  Is there a geographical number for CD WOW?  The 0870 no. is 0870 3500899.

Any help appreciated.

The number is 01494 683500. It is still in service and was the number they used before they changed to 0870.

Maybe there is confusion between the searches.

'Search' at the top of the page (inbetween 'Help' and 'Members') is to search the forums.

To search the database of numbers, select 'Home' and the 'Search to find an alternative number'.

CD Wow has dumped its 0870 phone number in favour of an 0800 number, written in international format: + 44 (0) 800 051 7046

Is that number likely to work from abroad? I thought 0800 numbers are even less likely to work than 0870, which is why my credit card company (with 0800 number) gives a geographical number to use in emergencies from abroad.

No, sadly not.
I believe that there is still an informal arrangement for +1 8XX and +44 80X to work between each other but not elsewhere. The standard (to the operator used) charge for the international leg is applied.
But the regulator(s) seem reluctant even to encourage such co-operation - even to the benefit of the citizen-consumer.
