I did not have an 08 number to start, I simply searched the database under Marks and Spencer.
It came up with the link that I quoted, and 01925 672317 was just the first geo number I dialled, and it worked.
I have since searched under M&S and I see there are loads of numbers, guess I just got lucky,
and I thought I'd verified in the same way as I usually do.
This is a shortcoming of the alternative number search engine, which I have brought to the attention of site admin on a number of occasions.
You searched for
marks and spencer
and it brought up the unverified entry (without verifieds) because someone had submitted it with "and" in, rather than "&", the format we use for this company. As I say, I've notified site admin a number of times and nothing has been done about it; it is just something to bear in mind. Note that some companies are listed in our database with "and" instead of "&".
From what I gather, 01925 672317 is given for overseas callers, so that's how it's come to be known. I believe it is primarily intended for online orders, particularly as the automated way in which it is answered is the same as the published 0845 604 4604 number for online food orders. Your call shows that they will deal with other types of enquiry.
Retail customer services
is given on the M&S website as 0845 302 1234, whose alternative listed in the database is 020 8718 0888. Whilst this number is working, then I won't list the 01925 number as this 0845 number's alternative.
