Hi There.  I have finally unearthed a freephone number for Microsoft.  It is 0800 0188 354 for the 'activavtion' service.  I hipe this helps someone.  Bob Debell

I have revised the entries for Microsoft. 0870 601 0100 has been replaced with 0844 800 2400 and the alternative is 01954 713950 which goes straight through to an agent (i.e. without IVR/menu).
