Thanks for the swift response.  I tried again with the 0800 0790440 number and this time got through to Pay as you go where they attempted to solve my problem.  Still on going but at least the number works.
Thanks again.  Great website Smiley

Following your posting I did some investigating. It turns out that the IVR (menu) on 0800 079 0440 is also on quite a few other numbers. I have gone through the database and tidied up the entries for Orange.

As well as 0800 079 0440, there is 0800 801080. Select option 1, 4, then 2 for pay as you go. Then select option 3 to be prompted for your Orange Pay as you Go phone number, the same as dialling 450 or 07973 100450.

Please can you list each number you tried so we may know which ones they are which would also be useful for future reference? Also, this would enable us to remove them all without the need to spend the time ringing them all.

I used the freephone number for the Executive Office 0800 0791034 on 5th November and it worked fine, perhaps that would be worth a try?    They seem a bit more able to deal with issues than those on the ordinary number anyway.

Dialling the main number, 0800 80 10 80, and selecting option 2, followed by 1 and then 4 used to go through to Pay monthly customer services (where it asked for the caller's mobile number). It now does not and instead gives out the number 07973 100150 or 150 from an Orange mobile. As such, we now have no alternative listed for Orange Pay monthly.

However, for Pay as you go, options 2, 2 and then 4 go through to an announcement requesting a pay as you go number be entered.

You can use the EE Freephone Number 0800 956 6000  option 4 and get connected to Orange pay monthly,or payg customer services. Also T-Mob. Wink

Thanks for this bigjohn. I've added it for Orange Pay monthly; we have an alternative for Pay as you go. When I last checked, T-Mobile's own 0800 numbers worked for customer services and I haven't been notified to the contrary.

I have just tried this, by selecting option 5 for existing customer and option 3 for (Orange PM). The route has been closed down as it redirects to 150 from an Orange phone or the 07973 number from other networks.

Thanks to no one for pointing this out.

Pay as you Go users can still call 0800 801080 and select option 2, then 2, then 4 to be put through to what I believe to be the same as dialling 450.
