Sky and 0870. Get £20 (Read 6,696 times)

Get £20 Jan 4^th, 2005 at 6:37pm I complained bitterly to Sky when they would not answer their alternative number and I had to use the 0870 number. When I threatened to quit sky they gave me a £20 credit and as they term it a quick reply 0870 number. This is 08702 414141. I tried this and did get through a little bit quicker. It still really bugs me though.

I had to phone sky today, tried the alternative number, couldn't get through at all, then tried the main switchboard, and when I said I didn't want to dial 0870 she hung up on me!
However when I complained bitterely about 0870 to the man, he said if I sent in my phone bill highlighting the 0870 number they would credit my sky bill with that amount.

Tried contacting sky today, reference downgrading to family viewing package.

Tried alternative number which now redirects you to an 0870 number. ???

Tried switchboard and explained that i don't agree with 0870 numbers. She wouldn't put me through even when i said i would stop my direct debit. Angry

So it's BYE BYE SKY from me, i'm getting FREEVIEW Grin

Sky are one of the worst offenders in the 0870 scam.

The cancellation of the DD will obviously trigger the termination of your viewing in time but it might be best to also e-mail them:

SkyDigital@bskyb.com and/or AllCustomerCareEscalation@bskyb.com

Get £20 Reply #4 - Feb 4^th, 2005 at 2:32pm Called Sky Customer Sercice today on their 01506 number and was advised "This service has been discontinued, please call 0870 etc" - usual result, long list of options cranking up the time / cost. Keep up the good work everyone, we may get somewhere in the end.
