Your search - "TN9 2ZP" 01732 - did not match any documents. Believe me I have tried the brute force method and was hoping you might have some more sophisticated method  Wink

Their main office number is 020 8929 8800. You can try that and ask for customer services.

That is their HR department! They are going to be a bit puzzled when people call in complaining about the rail services. They helpfully gave me 0845 1272920 as the "correct" number.

Southern Railway is a new franchise, so the Internet Archive is of no use.

All I can suggest is that you search for their parent company, Govia.

OK, it used to be Connex South Central, and the code we're looking for is probably 01233 (it's still the minicom number).

A Google for connex 01233 finds a few pages that might be worth looking at.

One number that jumps out is 01233 617640, although that's for Connex South-Eastern.

Thanks for that. I tried that number (unobtainable) and did various searches for connex, govia & southern railway with that prefix and excluding textphones, but did not find anything. They must have this number locked in a vault somewhere! I think you are right about the code since the textphone is on that prefix, assuming all enquiries are handled in Ashford.

It's a difficult one cause it's a new company. I doubt the old franchise holder's number would be any good. They will probably be operating from different offices, although I can't say for certain.

That gave me an idea, since the textphone number has not changed it must be the same location. Searching for the new textphone number I found the old textphone number alongside a reference to a geographic voice number! When I called 01223 617640 the mystery deepened: a breathy female voice announced that the number had been seized by http://www.inclarity.co.uk/Solutions/Numbering-Solutions.aspx who I should call to discover more about "global data and roaming solutions". Actually the page I looked at was less than honest in its description of 08xx pricing, so maybe Southern are not even recieving any revenue?

When I did some searching yesterday, the textphone number, in addition to some fax numbers and their office address were the same as when it was South Central/ Connex South Central. I guess when the franchise was taken away from Connex, they brought in new management, but most of the staff would have stayed the same.

As we know (from experiences with the likes of BAA, for example) when they introduce 0870 they usually disconnect the old number - they aren't completely stupid!

I am trying to find a geo number for Southern Rail, Go Ahead House,  26-28 Addiscombe Road, Croydon, Surrey, CR9  5GA non-geo 0845 7272930.  I have to phone during peak time and as is a complaint would prefer not to pay them for the priviledge of complaining.  Have tried thro site under travel and unverified entries but no joy.  Any help greatly appreciated.

www.southernrailway.com

shows the ngn to be
08451 27 29 20. The no posted by you should be 08451 (not 08457) 27 29 30 and is the fax no.

The call centre appears to be in Tonbridge. Kent. Southern is a trading name of New Southern Railway.

If my memory serves me right, havent you already posted the same request before.

Many thanks big john for your very comprehensive reply.  Unless my memory is failing me (and this is a distinct possibility) I have not requested this information previously-have only just got into a dispute with Southern Rail, at least my daughter has managed it whilst visiting a friend at Sussex Uni in Worthing!  Many thanks once again for your help.
