The verified alternative number for 0845 640 5630 (home insurance claims), 01292 753505, does not work and directs you to dial the 0845 number. An unverified number, 01202 879044, also does not work and directs you to dial 0845 640 5912. The one unverified number that does work is the main switchboard number, 01202 292333 and I used that successfully to get through to the claims department.

During the course of my conversation I was given another number to get back to them on, for buildings insurance claims, which was 0845 605 7840. When I queried whether there was a geographic alternative, he just suggested I dial the main switchboard number, 01202 292333 and ask to be put through. He fully understood why I would want such a number and bemoaned the fact that, in the US, where he used to work, most companies use free phone numbers for such things!

kasg, are you with LV? If so you are a "member" and have a right to voice your feedback or complaint to LV directly. As far as I can tell LV are a Mutual organisation which means they answer to their customers or "members". More info about this is here

With regards to voicing your feedback or complaints they have a dedicated page here which includes their e-mail address as well.

If enough people voice their views then LV has more people to have to listen to.

I've tidied up the entries for LV; all are now titled

LV= Liverpool Victoria (Frizzell)

As well as the main switchboard number, 01202 292333, there are some freephone numbers:

1. Existing business (with option for new quotation): 0800 272188

1. Car Insurance
2. Home Insurance

Selecting either of these, there are further options and both are the same:

1. Discuss or make changes to existing policy
2. Direct debit
3. Renewal
4. New quotation

This is a direct alternative for 0845 609 7191, 0845 640 5266 and 0845 640 5621 which answer with the same IVR (menu).

2. Renewals 0800 374028 and 0800 220790

This is a direct alternative to 0845 640 5288.

3. New quotations

0800 023 2638
0800 066 5270
0800 756 5886
0800 756 8020
0800 756 8022

Thanks for that, as they seem to be fairly laid back about giving out the main switchboard number, perhaps I could suggest that they put it on the website as an alternative to the 0845 numbers. It does appear on this page (found using Google).

Incidentally, LV is so much cheaper than anyone else for my home insurance that it's almost embarrassing. Well worth a try.

You are only a member if you have certain products with them.
If you have car/home etc insurance with them you are a "customer"! see here

The freephone was already verified but it didn't have the 0845 number so I have added the 0845 to the existing entry.
