I cannot send e-mails to 'saynoto0870' with this info as it says 'problem with your server' I have tried this a number of times and get the same error message.

Also the geo number for them in the database doesn't link up to the 0845 number listed... it just keeps ringing and ringing, and ringing...

I rang the 0800 its same thing its for emergency calls only and they give you the 0845 number to ring for bills The geographical does not work it just constantly rings so this needs updating on the search page Are there any alternatives to this 0845 number yet? thanx

Still trying to get a geo number for this. The ones listed do not work, the freephone one you cant get through they tell you to ring the 0845 number and the geographical one just constantly rings its obviously been disconnected.

I have tried the one that Peter posted too the 0121 722 4000 aswell and she again gave me the 0845 number saying that number was just for Businesses why is it we have the 0845 number and buisnesses are free?

the only number that works but there are huge wait times clocking up the money os 08457 500 500

They are such rip offs

Pretty sickening they give geo numbers to business people too and 0845 to us

I wanted to add; I had to ring the 0845 number tonight after 6 they are open till 8 so its cheaper after then. I wanted to pay part of my bill. When you ring you get a selection of choices 1-5 I chose 'want to pay a bill' and it just says 'sorry this feature is not available' and thats it dead line you dont get a new choice to try another department so you have no choice but to redial which makes it cost more because you pay conection charge everytime.

I also remember trying to go through the choice 'talk about direct debit or other payment options' a while ago and that was exactly the same. At first I thought it was a temporary fault and tried to call back a number of times getting connection charges everytime and got the same result. I am beginning to wonder if choices 1-5 are all the same but anyway the only way I got through is to ignore all choices and wait till someone takes the call then they sort it out.

Total rubbish though I had a bill to pay and had the letter there with exactly how much I had to pay but he still put me on hold twice to check it out god knows why but I still ended up paying that amount but had to wait ages twice

I did search but this did not reveal any previous threads. Tried many options from the database; the only one which works (as a previous poster there said ) is 0800 3288408 which I can now verify; it would, however, be useful if there was a geo equivalent as, when we move, we are supposed to phone through the meter reading BUT due to the incompetence of seemingly all telecos, may not have a landline for a few days & will have to rely on mobiles. The numbers we tried were:0800 7834444 recording saying emergencies only; 0121 722 4000 refers caller to 024 77715000 where woman claimed she couldn't (or wouldn't?) help & only had 0845 numbers, referred to 0845 750 0500 hence tried 0800 3288408 which works. Please could database be amended accordingly and, if anyone does have a geo number that would be great. Just realised should probably have put this under Geographical Requests.

As has been mentioned previously, the dial-through geographical numbers for use from mobiles are 020 0222 0900 and 020 0222 0700. Using one of these will allow calls to 0800/0808/0500 so-called "freephone" numbers. Charges will be as geographical calls, thus will often reduce the cost from mobiles.

I've tidied up the entries for Severn Trent Water, of which there were quite a number of unverifieds.

Of those which are left, most are Derby numbers. Helpfully, someone posted a comment alongside one of them which said that Severn Trent's main contact centre is based in Raynesway, Derby.

Severn Trent's own website has a location map (PDF) for this office which gives the address as Severn Trent Water Ltd, Raynesway, Derby, DE21 7BE (or DE21 7JA for post). This division of Severn Trent is, or was, sometimes known as Integra Utility Services.

I have removed all these Derby (01332) numbers, some of which are unobtainable and all of which are unverified:

*686023 - Call centre direct [0845 750 0500]
686051 - Water meter installation team [0845 709 0646]]
*686126 [0845 750 0500]
*686446 - Water meter applications [0845 709 0646]
886782 - Customer services Mon-Fri 9am-5pm [0845 750 0500]
886995 - Was provided by Severn Trent Trust Fund [0845 750 0500]

The numbers in square brackets are the 08 numbers each alternative was submitted for. Those market with a * are unobtainable.

There are also two other unverified entries which appear to be of relevance:

Integra Utility Services 0845 456 7063 01332 635030 Water Metering service subsidiary of South Staffordshire Water PLC and Severn Trent Water Services

South Staffs Water (Integra) 0845 456 7063 01332 635030 This is the number for water meter requests based in Derby (same number for Severn Trent Water)

There is an unconfirmed link between Severn Trent Water and South Staffs Water, particularly in respect to Integra. The number 0845 456 7063 is one used by South Staffs Water.

01332 280920 is apparently the metering services department, and may put calls through to customer services if asked nicely.

The clues above lead me to suggest that they have numbers in the range 686xxx (certainly 6860xx through to 6864xx), and possibly 886xxx. I also suggest that perhaps 01332 635030 is the main switchboard number for the Derby office. Huh
