Vodafone have a new 0870 number which I cannot find on the database - 0870 1601 621

This is for Business customers. I am not a business customer but in their infinite wisdom when the bought out the company I was with, they decided to make me business. Because of the great tariff I am on I have no wish to go elsewhere because that means they would want me on a new tariff..
So.. I would appreciate if anyone has a clue how to avoid the 0870 number. The other number that is on the Daterbase is for non business.

Use the number listed for Vodafone 01635 33251.

Press Opt 1 for Customer Service. Then press Opt 1 again for PAYG Customer Services, then select the appropriate option that you need.

Vodafone Customer Services Number

Hi,

The number for Vodafone Customer Services listed on saynoto0870.com

Vodafone - 0870 0700191      - 01925 862000

... doesn't put you through to Customer Services.

I've tried this number three times in the past week and each time it puts you "on hold". I've left the call on-hold for over 60 minutes each time - so it seems Vodafone have "got wise" to this and re-direct your call to nowhere but hold music.

Calling the normal 0870 number gets a response within 2-3 minutes.

Hope that helps somebody else not waste time on-hold like me!

Regards,

Richard Tubb.

Hi there!

Why not try 01635 33251 and then listen to the annoucement.  If you follow the instructions, you should get through.

Hi,

Thanks James. I didn't notice that number listed on the Search Engine, so I'll give it a go.

Is this the right place to note non-working numbers such as the 01925 862000 number I mentioned? Will the database be updated with this? I wouldn't want anyone else to waste their time like I did.

Regards,

Richard Tubb.

The reason for this apparent non-working could be you are stuck in a very long queue (although 60min is very unlikely).

The reason why the 0870 will work is because of something called Intelligent Call Routing (ICR).  This ICR will forward the call to one of possible many call centres around the UK (and often outside the UK!!) whichever has the least amount of people already in their queuing systems for that specific call centre.  Sometimes dialling a geographical direct may only put you on hold in the queuing system for that specific call centre which I think would be the Warrington area in this case.

If I remember I will keep trying this number during times when they are likely (well hopefully) less busy.

Thanks Minardi. I've removed been through these and removed those not working.

01635 665800 answers with an IVR (menu) for Vodafone Corporate; it is listed alongside 0870 169 9660 which is a fax number. A secondary number is 0870 4500010 which requests a mobile telephone number. Does anyone know the 08 number for Vodafone Corporate which points to (answers the same as) this 01635 number?

I have been through the database and removed a number of 01782 609xxx numbers which are now either temporarily out of order or busy and relate to mobile companies (Vodafone, DotMobile, Singlepoint 4U). Some of these entries had 0800 068 xxxx numbers in as well which are now not working.

028 9027 5302 straight to agent, answered as "Vodafone NI"

01636 602902 straight to agent, answered as "Vodafone Business"

The Vodafone customer services number quoted by shops is
0870 0700 191
. I rang it today, entered my phone number, and got the engaged tone. Four. Times. Every. Time.  Angry And at different times of day. Waste of time!

Tried
01635 33251
(gleaned from this forum) - no busy tone. OK, I had to tap in my phone number twice, and then give it verbally to an assistant, but ...
a) At least it wasn't an 0870 number!  Smiley
b) And I got through! Smiley
c) Also, I was not challenged for ringing this number (as others have reported above).

I can recommend this number, although I will not be using it ever again (having just requested my PAC (to transfer to O2)). Still, I hope this number (along with my experience of using it) is useful for others.
Happy Christmas!

I didn't read the rest of the thread, but what's wrong with calling 191 from the handset?

That number is also  07836  191 191.  No idea what the rate is for calling that.  It looks like a mobile number.

I've just got a Vodafone PAYG sim, and I am sure I will have to call Customer Services at some point, I shall try the 'mobile' number from my contract O2 Mobile and advise on how it's charged.

Vodafone Redirecting 0808 To 0870 Numbers!!

So this is to report that on trying to call Vodafone today on a series of 0808 numbers listed for them in the Verified and Unverified sections of the alternative numbers list I am persistently getting redirected by an automated message to instead call 191 on my handset or 0870 0100191 (or 08700 100191 as they choose to announce it) when calling various numbers including the Portability Helpline on 0808 0945945 and Customer Services on 0808 0000166 and 08080 0408408 or Customer Relations on 0808 0044700.

0808 0996746 listed in the Unverified also does not work and nor does an automated announcement on this number saying that Vodafone called you but if you need to called them back you can do so on 0808 0000115.  Unfortunately the 0808 00001115 number also does not work and gives you a number unavailable message (the modern incarnation of the unobtainable tone)

However 0808 0408408 (already listed as a Verified alternative but the only one that still works), 0808 0044426 do still work.  Also 0808 0011101 in the Unverified section does not work any more itself to get through to but then says if you still need to call Vodafone to call them instead on 0808 0000166 (i.e. an officially company approved 0808 number for calling them it would seem).  This number does work and has several IVR options for different parts of Vodafone.

If Vodafone are going to play the Sky game of closing down well known 0808 or geographic numbers and this is in the name of increased revenue share seeking on 084/7 numbers then you would at least have thought they would be using an 0844 number.  But no the incompetent muppets at Vodafone cost you a fortune extra to call them from a mobile or on any BT landline without inclusive minutes calls when you are calling (or in the case of most other landlines at all times) but are presumably not even benefiting from any revenue share in doing so.  Only the company you are making the call with will be benefiting from the extra scam charges that Ofcom still incredibly allows to be made for out of bundle calls to 0870 numbers so why exactly on earth do Vodafone still do it?!  Angry

This is especially hard to fathom when customers calling on their own handsets will be using 191 and so the only opportunity Vodafone had to benefit from the extra 0870 call charges as an OCP will not in fact exist.

I can see why they might not want people to call them at their expense on an 0808 number but why not either get an 0844 number on which they will earn the ful revenue share available or get an 03 number if they don't want their callers to have to pay extortionate prices but object to having to pay totally for the incoming call.

It does seem very, very odd that in 2013 a telco as large as Vodafone should be actively supporting and promoting the continued use of what should now be antiquated and archaic 0870 numbers? Huh Angry Cry

I fear I may not have exhaustively tested all the 0808s tested for Vodafone but I did certainly try the vast majority and all of those listed in the Verified numbers section.  Although I haven't yet tried it as my free calls don't start till 7pm with Post Office Homephone I suspect it is likely that they will also be redirecting many of their geographic 01635 and similar alternatives to their 0870 CS number. Angry Angry Angry

Thanks for reporting this; I will clear out the numbers that are no longer any use.

To the best of my knowledge, customer services can be reached on 01635 676061. You press any key and then a mobile number is requested. Please let us know if it works or not for CS enquiries, should you try it.
