To the best of my knowledge, customer services can be reached on 01635 676061. You press any key and then a mobile number is requested. Please let us know if it works or not for CS enquiries, should you try it.

I may try their geographic numbers later after 6pm (hour earlier start I just remembered with Post Office HomePhone compared to BT or Plusnet Home Phone) although this is going to be one of my last interactions with Vodafone as I am helping one of my relatives also become a customer of www.ovivomobile.com who give you 150 minutes of calls and 400MB of data per month for free (subject to reading the occasional inserted ad page when web browsing on the mobile).

I was somewhat surprised Dave that you had no comment to make on Vodafone still using the archaic 0870 range as their main landline number for customer services.

I have read your posting and intend comment on Vodafone's 0870 numbers. The posting was simply to point you to what I believe to be a suitable alternative. Once I've had a clear-out, I will post again.

If your ringing them from another UK mobile network worth noting you can use 07836  191 191.Hopefully out of your inclusive minutes if you have some. Smiley

But they do some keen for some reason for customers calling from another UK Phone  to call old skool 0870 numbers.  See:  http://help.vodafone.co.uk/system/selfservice.controller?CMD=VIEW_ARTICLE&PARTIT...

I've had a tidy-up and clear-out of Vodafone numbers. Please let me know of any further amendments that are required.

I have come across a range of 0333 numbers that are for Vodafone; one of these was given out on 0161 446 4300 and 0870 077 7881. Putting the 0870 number into the search returned some other entries for Yes Telecom. All the numbers for Yes answered as Vodafone and redirected elsewhere.

0161 446 4300 / 0870 077 7881 redirect to 0333 304 4550 for Vodafone customers
0333 304 3346 Vodafone Insurance
0333 304 4333

Try Googling search terms like vodafone "0333", vodafone "03333" and vodafone "0333 304" to find them.

It does seem very, very odd that in 2013 a telco as large as Vodafone should be actively supporting and promoting the continued use of what should now be antiquated and archaic 0870 numbers? Huh Angry Cry

I think that this demonstrates how low down the list of priorities an incoming telephone number is. Most other companies have followed the revenue trail and switched to 0844. Clearly, Vodafone isn't that bothered and isn't so bothered about the cost its customers pay to ring up, as clearly no user of a 084/087 number is.

It speaks volumes about the industry that the main mobile networks provide their own mobile numbers for customer services from other networks. I have commented before how they will rake off the higher termination charges, although of course these are now coming down due to the general reduction in mobile termination rates.

These numbers answer with the following options:

1. Join Vodafone, move from pay as you go or add another phone to your account.
2. Upgrade your handset or have a question.

0808 002 2005
0808 002 2008
0808 002 2009
0808 004 4423
0808 004 4424
0808 004 4426
0808 040 0401
0808 040 8408

The number 0808 002 2010 answers with two options: 1. If you're calling about a business account; 2. If you're calling about a consumer account. On selecting option 1, the menu is as at the top of this posting (with the exception that pay as you go isn't mentioned) and selecting option 2 gives the same menu as at the top of this posting.

These are the numbers I tried; there are obviously others nearby that might be worth a try.

Dave,

That looks like more than enough numbers to meet the needs of site users.

I would suggest only one of the 0808 numbers for retail customers is listed for now along with a separate listing for the business customer services number and that the others are held in reserve until such time as the first one gets blocked.

Having said that Vodafone does also make a big distinction between Pay As You Go and Contract customer service but in my experience no 0808 numbers exist for Pay As You Go customer service and you normally have to use one of the 0808 numbers intended for contract customers and then beg them to transfer you over to Pay As You Go rather than making you call back on an 0870 number.

Also sorry for not replying earlier as I only just spotted the post update thread in a clear out of my webmail.

Thanks.

Presently 0808 000 0166 is listed for customer services and also 0808 040 8408.

P.S. I've made a posting about Ovivo Mobile on its thread in the Call Providers section of the forum.
