Oh great, calls to this number cost 5p/min - more than 0870 at the times you'll need to use the out of hours line. This is what all doctors' numbers are going to end up as, now that the Department of Health has decided to ban 0870 numbers but allow 0844.

and  yes you have got it right when you phone the number 01843 821166  it says phone 0844 800 1234     so back to square 1 any ideas  please [/color]

The 0844 800 1234 number has been replaced with 0300 024 2424.

The 01233 505430 number was listed in our database as unverified for the 0844 number, but it is answered with a message which redirects patients wishing to speak to the out of hours GP service to the 0300 number and everyone else to the administration team on 01233 505450.

I have therefore listed the 0300 number as the alternative to the 0844 one, with a note to say that it has replaced it.
