Only 0845 Ofcom number listed in new BT Phonebook!

I really can't believe this but my brand new BT Phonebook Number 530 for Guildford & West Surrey 2005/06 (received yesterday) only lists an 0845 number for both Ofcom Complaints and for Otelo (the telecommunications Ombudsman).

Can I suggest you all email your outrage straight away to:-

and to:-

elizabeth.france@otelo.org.uk

What good is it for the regulator to preach that other people should be publishing their geographic phone numbers when they are only publishing an 0845 number themselves in all the current BT Phonebooks.

The whole thing is just built on a totally disgusting lie which most of the dumb corporate suckers have simply fallen for.

In contacting BT or Ofcom, you may wish to refer to this letter FROM Ofcom to me on this very topic.

I recently wrote to Ofcom regarding the o845 only number on the back og BT telephone bills. No reply yet.

Thank you for your further letter to Ofcom of 30 September 2004.
BT were informed in June this year that Ofcom required both our geographic and our non-geographic numbers to appear next to our entry in the phone book.
BT advised Ofcom that this information will be included when the new directory is published.

Whilst holding on for a call today I took the opportunity to read page five of my new telephone book.

To my surprise I noticed that you give your telephone number 0845 050 1614.

This is described as a special rate number elsewhere in the same publication.

Please supply your geographical telephone number as soon as possible so that I may contact you.

I note that Ofcom's number is listed next to yours as 0845 456 3000, described as a "Local rate call".

How much per minute does each call cost?
