Angry Anybody had dealings with  this company? Their 0870 number in full is; 0870 9500 785. They send out new mobile phones and if you don't ring this number to obtain a returns collection number within five days you get billed in full.waited over an hour for a reply, did'nt get one.

The URL is incorrect, and redirects to a "for sale" page full of adverts...

Found it: communicationsdirect.org.uk or communicationsdirect.net

Communications Direct Ltd
Dominions Hose
Queen Street
Cardiff
United Kingdom
CF10 2AR

part of CDL Europe

Unfortunately, no trace of a geographical number anywhere...

Assuming that you did not order the telephone from them it would be worth checking with your local Trading Standards Office(r).

I believe that with unsolicited goods you only have an obligation to keep them safe, having advised (in writing, by recorded delivery) the sender to collect them.

Under the Distance Selling Regulations 2000, if you are sent unsolicited goods, you can treat them as a gift and just keep them! Also, if the company asks you for payment, they are committing an offence.

A bit of Googling, and it seems quite a few people (particularly on Usenet) are unhappy with this company's sales technique.

And what did I find in one newsgroup?

Try 029 2036 8700

This is your best option if they sent the phone to your business, where the Distance Selling Regulations don't apply.

Also, if you did order the phone (or should I say agreed to buy it) and have changed your mind, you need to cancel in writing anyway, not by phone (e-mail counts as writing). Someone mentions that they try to charge £20 for a cancelled order, but they can't do this, under the same Regulations.

Otherwise, if it was unsolicited, just keep it, or put it on eBay if you don't want the phone!

Wasting your time I am ... after reading another post - which pointed me to 192.com I found the following (nothing in the business directory I notice  - only the FREE listing - the cheapskates).

COMMUNICATIONS DIRECT 4TH FLOOR DOMINIONS DOMINIONS ARC CARDIFF CF102AR  029 2035 9001
COMMUNICATIONS DIRECT DOMINIONS HOUSE DOMINIONS ARC CARDIFF CF102AR  029 2036 8700

Don't know if you are interested in adding this to your directory .. but a warning. ... watch out if they ring you and tell you your contract is up for renewal!!!!

This post has been moved to the existing thread on Communications Direct, so the post referred to is in this thread. I hope that makes sense to you! Good.  Smiley

Numbers 02920 368700, 01, 02 and 02920 368704 through to 02920 368714 are for sales. 02920 368703 is for customer services.

After 14 it peters out and some are out of service. Is there really only one customer service line when 14 are used for sales?  Roll Eyes
