Yes it appears that they have removed access through these numbers very recently. I believe they have changed their internal systems so that it only allows calls that have been made through the 0870 number. Pathetic really.

I got around this problem by calling Acer Customer Services on 0208 283 3000, say you are calling from abroad (France, Italy, Spain...) and tried to call the repair centre on the 0870 number, but it didn't work. They will then dial the repair centre and connect you through.

Don't know how many times we'll get away with this though, but surely they won't accuse you of lieing... and perhaps they will realise that WE DON'T WANT TO CALL YOUR 0870 NUMBER!

Getting back to the problem of trying to contact Acer Laptop Tech Support............
Has anyone managed to do this on a geo number??
I have been fobbed off by many of the suggested geo numbers above saying that they only have the 0870-853-1000 number & that there is no geo number!!
Can this be true?

Suggest you prefix the geog. phone number with 141 when you call so that they don't know where you are calling from).

By calling 01752243924 i got through to Craig from 'Acer Technical Support'.
It takes a while to answer but it will usually be answered, but your not paying whilst its ringing.
He asked me where i got the number from as he doesn't normally take calls from this direct line.
He refused to continue the call and told me to ring the 0870 number.

I've merged all Acer threads into this one, so I'll summarise what we know.

Customer services and technical support is provided by Esplex, a subsidiary of Acer, based in Plymouth. There is a BBC News report from February this year about jobs being lost to Poland.

The main switchboard is 01752 243800. They may put you through. The old switchboard number, 01752 515515, is now unobtainable.

In reply #16, posted in August 2005 by DaveM, he says he found some customer services numbers: 01752 243889, 90, 91, 92, 93, 94, 95, 96, 97. He also gives technical support fax as 01752 319864, although this was busy when I tried it just now.

Reply #24 from a very nice man in May 2006 gives the head of Acer UK call centre as Andrew Parsonage, extension 752 or direct dial 01752 243752.

In July 2006 (reply #27) I noted that someone had submitted 01752 243924 for listing in the database as "technical" and that this was allegedly given out by the switchboard. In reply #37 noto says he/she got through to Craig from Acer Technical Support on that number.


The Acer UK contact page still gives 0870 853 1000 as the technical helpline, but a recording says that it has changed to 0871 760 followed by the last four digits. So I gather all Acer's 0870 853 xxxx numbers are now 0871 760 xxxx.

As you can see, the Esplex office numbers appear to be 01752 243xxx. Please report back by posting here if you try any numbers and how you got on as this will help others looking for a number for Acer.

Dave...the story so far.. trying to get to ACER support without it costing a fortune.
