No it doesn't help because with all these geographic number diversion services you have to pay extra for the forwarded leg of the call and also for the existence of the diversion service too
Whereas call diversion on 0845 or 0870 is free to the recipient with the additional diversion cost being paid by the caller.
That is why many small businesses prefer to use 0845 and 0870 numbers in a situation where they regularly need to divert calls.
The biggest scam is that if you need to divert calls on a BT line you can only use BT as the carrier and not any of the 100 or so carriers that you might use via indirect prefix code access or CPS registration on a BT line.
