Useless 0870 Alternate Sky Listings

In view of the very great length of time that it can take for a number to move from the unverified to the verified section of the forum I would be grateful for the comments of the forum administrators in respect of the almost entirely useless state of listings for Sky Digital's customer services.

Various numbers are quoted which are switchboards but all of those numbers say that they are unable to connect me to the customer services department even though they are answering today (a Bank Holiday Monday but a day on which the scamsters at BT still charge the full weekday 7.5p per minute).

Since most of these listings for Sky are not helpful can they please be deleted and replaced with numbers for their customer services and technical departments that actually work.

I know that I am really asking the impossible here and possibly my previous comments were made somewhat impetuously in the heat of the moment and yet unlike Juby I do not even have the excuse of having quaffed an odd glass of wine or two!

However it does seem that a number of the numbers listed for Sky ending 000 merely connect to a switchboard operator that refuses to connect one to either customer services or sales or technical support.

With that being so in the absence of any satisfactory alternate geographic numbers being available surely the only satisfactory thing to do is to remove these misleading geographic listings.

I can only assume that calls to the switchboards were once connected and that like some of the other more aggressive 0870 users Sky have now issued instructions to switchboard staff for this practice to cease.

Hi, I used the freephone Disney number a couple of days ago and it worked fine. You call the freephone number and key 1 for Sky. I had no problems sorting out my subscription Direct Debit using this number.

I didn't call the Disney number because I assumed that it was only for subscriptions to the Disney channel and not general Sky Customer Services.

Assuming the Disney 0800 number does actually cover all the the customer options we need then the other switchboard numbers shown should be removed as they are no help and confuse the issue.  Also the words Disney against the freephone number should also be removed.
