SmileyAfter > 6 < calls, BT have AT LAST confirmed to me that 0300 and 0500 numbers ARE Free!   Smiley

The woman apologised for the numerous advisor's who misinformed me.
I shouldn't have doubted Dave and CJT-80... but when you have Actual BT staff telling you specifics like 5p during the day and 3p during the evenings, it's hard not to be a little befuddled.

Last week there was a whole day where I wasn't able to get on the site.... I started worrying it had been shut down
Phew, you're still here!

Remember it is free only from landlines. Mobile providers charge

Please do not go spreading the myth that 0300 numbers are free to call per se. Their call charges depend on the tariff subscribed to.

These numbers can be placed in two groups:

1. "Freephone" numbers: This is a widely used title and applies to 0800, 0808 and 0500 numbers. They are free to call from BT landlines and other landlines, irrespective of tariff. They are also free from BT Payphones.

2. Geographic (01/02) and "UK-wide" (03) numbers: All 03 numbers are charged the same; do not think that because the third and fourth digits are 00 that they are different and perhaps always free to caller. They are charged on the same (or better) terms as geographic numbers, and are free as part of inclusive packages. It stands to reason therefore, that the BT representatives would have to know which calling plan you are on in order to answer the question of cost of calling accurately.

Remember that 03 numbers are all those starting 03; that is 0300, 0303, 0330, 0333, 0343, 0344, 0345, 0370, 0371 and 0372.

Sorry, I didn't mean to spread incorrect information.  BT advised me all 0300 are free, she didn't mention tariffs.

Welcome to SAYNOTO0870.COM.

Please can you explain what you mean when you say you "cannot ring any of the free numbers quoted." I have just tried 0500 777777 and got through to La Redoute IVR (menu).  Huh

Re: Daxon Online Orders {Redcats}

Hello to everyone  Smiley

Today I needed to talk with Daxon regarding an online order.  Daxon's website gives this number: 0844 842 1234.

On our UnVerified database Daxon is listed 3 times, offering this number: 01274 729544
http://www.saynoto0870.com/numbersearch.php

I just want to let yous all know, I called 01274 729544 and was greeted by a very terse woman who claimed to be Daxon's Head Office.
When I explained I needed to discuss my online order she 'told' me to ring the number that is on their website!
Then I launch into the usual speech - my phone can not dial any 0844 or 0845 numbers, I'm disabled and unable to trot down to the local phone box...
Amazingly, she then said she might be able to transfer me.
She was not happy about doing this - poor thing having to push a couple of numbers on the phone   Roll Eyes
I was transferred to a Daxon Customer Service advisor, and my issues have been resolved, they don't make life easy for us paying customers do they!

Thanks to SAYNOTO0870.COM I haven't had to pay for a phone call for almost 1 year - I joined on 16th April 2010.    Smiley

Me Again   Cheesy  RE: LA REDOUTE

I would like to confirm that a geo number listed in the unverified database does work.... Smiley

The number is listed under La Redoute > 0844 842 2222  =  01924 313612

This takes you straight to Customer Services, nice n easy   Grin

{ps can someone please explain to me how I can insert a link that would take you to the page I am talking about? Thanks}

Thanks for this. I've put this in the verified listings for La Redoute and labelled it as "Customer Services Straight through with no menu". Do you know whether they will take orders on this number? If it does, I will amend it to say so.

Also, will they deal with Vertbaudet enquiries on this number? If so, then I can put an equivalent entry in for it.

Note that there are also freephone and 0870 alternatives to the published 0844 number (which answer with the same menu) and these are listed first, followed by the 01924 313612 number you've highlighted and then the main switchboard 01274 729544.

Search for
redcats
to see all the entries for this company.

01924 313612 does take you to a 'menu'
3 options, place new orders, arrange collections, and all other queries.
I have checked and they do deal with Vertbaudet as well as La Redoute    Smiley
{thanks for the link....am off to check it out now..}

I didn't try this number; I assumed that it was straight through (without a IVR/menu).

It turns out that it is the same IVR as is on 0870 050 0455, 0844 842 2222, 0500 777777 and 0500 777888, so I conclude that they can all be used interchangeably. I've put them all in one single entry (and removed the separate one giving this 01924 number I created earlier).

I then tried 01924 313611 and found this to be the same La Redoute IVR and 313610 is the equivalent Vertbaudet IVR. 313609 wasn't an IVR (rang) and 313613 was answered by a member of staff.

So we've found the direct alternatives that we've been looking for for quite a while. Thanks to the person that submitted the 313612 number.  Smiley

A little more digging reveals that Daxon has the alternative 01924 313605. The published number is 0871 225 8080. As there is no known freephone number for Daxon, I've put an entry giving the La Redoute freephone number, 0500 777777, with a note to say that it is the same company.
