Tesco Mobile is a joint venture with 02.Customer Service Centre is in Bury.Lancs

Can only come up with 0845 900 1010 so far.At least it halves the price if it works.Let us know how you get on.

Does anyone know (I know this is slightly off subject) if calls TO a Tesco Mobile from a Landline cost the same as phoning an O2 mobile from a landline?

Or are the costs different?   If so, what are they or how do I find out, because I nearly bought a tesco mob but then didn't on the grounds that nobody could tell me how much calls TO the mobile would be charged at.

If you know the first 5 digits, check the cost (from a BT landline) HERE.

If Tesco Mobile uses the O2 network, then they will be charged (from a landline) the same as to an O2 mobile.

Calls from landlines are charged according to the number prefix (ie, which network operator it is allocated to). So when numbers are ported to another network, it still costs the same as phoning the old network when calling from a landline.

Tesco M is a virtual network, piggy backing on O2.As  Easy Mobile, and Virgin do on T Mobile.
As Dave points out calls are charged
as if you are ringing the real network.Unless the number was ported from another network.

Calls to all networks are 20p/min also same to any landline anytime of day or night.

But you can niminate 3 numbers for 50% reduction 10p/min and 5p/txt or look at www.tescomobile.com

Thanks for that everyone... really appreciate it!

But just as I was about to dash to Tesco and buy a sim card, I noticed Onetel's "Freecaller" offer - if you have landline with them (not necessarily Line Rental) and a pay monthly mobile, from £5 per month, all calls between the mobile and landline and other mobiles on the same account are free for life.

See the offer for yourselves and decide if really is too good to be true! http://www.onetel.co.uk/index.php/freecaller

Yep but you are tied to a contract for a year and the cross network calls are high 40p a min!

Have you had a chance to look at the EasyMobile sim offer. You pay a fiver and get ten pounds of calls, and you can still pick a good no,and the rates are better then Tesco,or anyone else come to that.

I had a look at Easymobile, but was a little wary of their super-uber-cheap call rates... does anyone here have Easymobile because if so that would be a little more reassuring.  Undecided

I also wonder if it's possible to somehow get two sim cards to work in a single mobile handset, using an adaptor maybe? ???  I ask about having two sim cards because Orange have some very competitive offers, including the TRY promotions and 2 for 1 cinema tickets on Wednesdays...

I am using Easy M at the mo, and the rates are correct. But there is some interesting reading on
www.mobile expert.co.uk about there lack of customers.

You can still get twin sim card holders to go in some phones.Try a good accessory shop.

Noticed that Onetel offer to pay the unlocking fee from your old network! Smiley  My phone is locked to Orange at the moment and apparently as it's a Sagem MyX-7 it's a bugger to unlock the "dodgy way" Wink
