Homecall/Caudwell Communications
May 16th, 2005 at 4:43pm

I have a problem with a company called Homecall, part of Caudwell Communications, based in Manchester, which your service helpfully provided a number for (its 0161 451 1000 for 0870 143 0827), and this worked fine. They owe my elderly mother money and I was then told to call Credit Control on another 0870 number: 0870 900 2917. This is not available through the first number, and is not on your list, or on the unverified section.

In case this helps anyone else, my partner searched the internet and came up with a Stoke on Trent number for Caudwell HQ, which is 01782 600600. I used this to get through to some sort of Customer Care on extension 11409, but I had to speak to a receptionist.

What is particularly irritating is that I live in Cheshire, and I could probably have got through this business quicker if I had gone and battered on their door, in Manchester or Stoke. Having to phone 0870 is particularly galling when they are on local numbers.

But local and national rate geographical calls are no more unless you are on BT non-discounted tariffs. If you are on BT Together you pay the same for a call to your next door neighbour as you do to call the other end of the country.

Caudwell Communications is part of Caudwell Group. There are some numbers and addresses on the group's site which you may find useful.  Wink

Please let us know how you go on.

Hi,
I've just recently started using Homecall's broadband service and received their first bill. There are numerous errors and charges which lead me to suspect that they are using 'sump' recruitment.
I have other 0870 numbers for which I would like to know of equivalent national numbers:
0870 220 2112
Technical: 0870 1423 450
Undecided
