The number given on the contact page is 0870 5910038, which is also on BT Directory Enquiries, along with the head office number 0121 7129000. A Google of "0121 712 9001" brings up one hit, which shows this to be their fax number. Maybe they have many direct dial numbers with the same prefix.

I have added it to the list. Did you have to be put through? Am I right in presuming that the geo is switchboard?

I called this number to get through to the Oxford Street store; on my insistence, I was given the direct dial of Customer Service in the store (020 7318 2310).  In future, I shall use this number as a mini exchange from which I can be tranferred to other departments.
