Hi Daniel,

You can now call mobiles at only 4ppm so you may wish to consider updating your Cheapest Call Provider list.

It's 4ppm via DialWise.co.uk's mobile access number of 0844 428 46 46.

I've also posted this info in the appropriate forum here.

I can't take credit for finding this as it was found by pricefighter on MSE forum.

Hi Daniel.

www.dialaround.co.uk have changed there 0844 access numbers for cheaper peak rate calls  to 0845 & 0870.They are now for

0845 = 0844 462 50 50. Still 2p a min at all times.
0870 = 0844 566 76 76. Still 5p a min at all times.

No doubt you will wish to update the list.

Hi Daniel,

Reading this post, DialWise no longer charge just 4ppm to call a mobile but instead inform you to ring a 0871 number.

The cheapest is now AbroadTel (see post #27 from BJ) in the above link but from trials it appears that not all calls are going through.

I don't know if you therefore want to change the Cheapest Call list for calling mobiles to AbroadTel (bearing in mind that calls to it have to be in international format and sometimes it comes back as engaged even when you know it shouldn't) or alternatively, back to Call18866 again.

Hi Daniel,

I've just read here on MSE forum (posted by Pricefighter) that AbroadTel have changed their access number used for calling Mobiles to 0871 342 00 09 which is charged at 9ppm from a BT landline but will be more from other providers.

Also, AbroadTel's service, as posted on the MSE forum, is getting worse and sometimes you get informed that the mobile is off or busy even though you know it isn't.

I know this is true as I've rung my own mobile and a few times I'm informed that the mobile is busy even though I obviously know it isn't.  This is worse because obviously once connected to AbroadTel we are paying for this service even if it comes back and informs us the mobile is busy.

I also read that OfCOM are looking into AbroadTel as they've received loads of complaints about this.

Therefore, taking into consideration the above I don't know if you want amend your Cheapest Call provider for mobiles back to Call1899 at 10ppm.

Hi Daniel,

Your Cheapest Call List will need updating because from the 31st October, Onetel's 118111 UK Directory Enquiries Service will no longer be free but instead will be subject to a connection fee of 20p and then 10p per minute thereafter.

0800 0192 190 is a DQ service offered by Trinity Newspapers (I think) and is obviously free in most circumstances except obviously some mobile networks.

The above free DQ service I think has been mentioned on this forum before and I know is mentioned on the MSE forum.

Thanks.

Kev.
