I found their registered company address as MLC Trust Management Company Limited.  88 Wood Street. London. EC2V 7QQ. Company number 2949646.   Looking up their details in Companies House, I discovered that they were previously known as  NATIONAL AUSTRALIA TRUST MANAGEMENT COMPANY LIMITED

On typing NATIONAL AUSTRALIA into BT.com, it came up as showing National Australia Bank who are registered at 88 Wood Street, London, EC2V 7QQ.  Tel 020 77102100. 

On speaking to them, I was told that they are part of MLC Investments in Australia, who were bought out by National Australia Bank. Their wealth management arm , MLC Trust Management, is in the UK.   

They seemed surprised that I was trying to contact MLC Trust Management through them, but at the same time were very helpful.  They say that half MLC Trust Management calls are routed to Leeds, half to Glasgow and gave me an 0870 607 3344 number, but were unable to give me any other number.  They said they would be unable to help me with any investment queries.  She seemed a bit vague as to whether they actually had an official office in Glasgow!

Looking at their Australian Webpage,  http://www.mlc.com.au/masterkeyWeb/execute/umenu?filename=1,00,50.html ;   I found a contact number for them in Australia -  612 9466 7180.


Might it be cheaper to call Australia on this one?

Not sure just how helpful all my digging around has been, but it was very interesting on my part at least!

They will probaly tell you that they do it because of the advanced 0870 intelligent routing,which helps manage call flows,to there two offices.

This was originally only available on NGN,but now the more advanced networks can provide this facility on standard geographical numbers.So there is no excuse for using them.
