On a lighter note, as Dave1216 is either from the Plymouth area, or was on holiday there, did you or anyone else see the boat race on the Hoe.  A good display don't you think?

As for Plymouth City Council, they are a bunch of con artists.  Two years ago, when Labour got in, they decided to charge for Sunday parking, but couldn't change all the car park pay and display tariffs at once, so they employed extra parking attendants to give everyone without a parking ticket a fine.

Naturally those who appealed won, on the grounds that the notice board said free parking on Sunday, but they banked on the many more, who didn't complain to raise extra revenue.

Very underhand don't you think!!  Don't know whats worse, that, or the 0870 scam!!

I was visting my borther-in law.  I had a vistor permit on display!

So sorry i didn't see the boat race, was it good?

I don't know if this is widespread, but plymouth city council gave a friend on mine a summons for council tax.  He was a full time student living at an address that had somebody who wasn't council tax exempt (seperate lodgers!).  The person liable refused to pay, so my friend had to pay there whole bill as there name was registerd with the council first!

I think next time, i'll stay in my home county!

The boat race was really good.  Didn't know who was winning etc as I lost track, and didn't know it was the last lap until they crossed the finish then stopped, lol.

Well, I'm not actually in Plymouth myself, but in the next town, and over the border into Cornwall.

However I do need to rely on Plymouth for going to work, entertainment and shopping etc, so although I didn't have a say on their local council being voted in, the people that have to live with their decision are not just Plymouth residents, but also from Saltash, Callington, Liskeard, Ivybridge, Tavistock, Looe, Torpoint, and all the smaller villages as well.

Call Centre

Hi,

I'm new to using forum so this may have been answered in the past. Plymouth City Council (Penalty Parking Charges) have 0845 3000 600 as their number. I couldn't find it on the 'Say No' site so asked them what their landline alternative is. I was told it was a 'call centre' and that there was no geographical number. Is this true of call centres? Surely there must be an alternative?
It's a pain to be charged for complaining about a parking ticket you shouldn't have to begin with. They don't even accept e-mail- letters only.

If it is Plymouth council that has issued the parking ticket ring this number          01752 668000    and ask them to put you through. If they give you an 08 number to ring, just say your telephone does not allow you to dial 08 numbers. Remember to hide your call first by dialling 141 first.
