Another annoying thing about these people is that they phone you at such peculiar times!  I've been phoned before 9am and after 8pm as well as on Saturdays and Sundays.  Quite personally, I think this is harassment and also a misuse of personal information.  Does anyone know if I'm right, please?  Also, I believe that not using a postmark on "time-sensitive material" (bank statements, bills, contracts, offers of interviews/jobs and statements of accounts) may be a breach of the Fair Trading legislation.  Is this so?  Can anyone enlighten me, please?  Thanks!

There's more than one freephone number for these b*st*rds!  The one I have is 0800 056 0950.  It seems they have a whole network on the 056 prefix.

I always withhold my number as the last time I didn't they called back a few days later to start giving me grief.  Since then I've changed my number, put it in my partner's name and gone ex-directory.  Never once in three years have they called.

Chimpchoker, can I post your story on another site? Made me laugh loads.

We telephoned them on 0800 056 0950 and they definitely seemed to be Blair Oliver and Scott. (They had access to my wife's account and a joint Iffy Bank ("Intelligent" Finance) one, even though she was only telephoning about the latter).

There had been a cock-up last year over a reduced overdraft limit which was later exceeded because I was seriously ill and didn't realise it had been reduced. Iffy however agreed to compensate me for the charges applied, and duly did so. This reduced the "debt" down to about £35, well within the limit. I had just started getting harassment from Blair Oliver and Scott at that point.

I therefore asked Iffy to tell Blair Oliver and Scott to desist, as the matter was by then resolved, but the problem is - they then apparently forgot to tell B O & S, who sent a "notice of intended Court action".

We were simply trying to tell them that they had got it wrong, and they saiy that because the Bank hasn't told them, they will pursue the threat. So I am now asking Iffy Bank a second time to tell Blair Oliver and Scott to desist! If they ignore it I may use the Harassment Act!

Still the 0870 240 5138 outcome is good - we know 0800 056 0950 does go (direct) to Blair Oliver and Scott Ltd!
