o2 online upgrades
Jul 30th, 2005 at 2:50pm

I know on the main site they have a phone number for upgrades but I rang that and they seem to only be the shop upgrades not online ones. My tariff is an online tariff. They have given me a number to ring but its an 0870. Do any of you know the number for the online upgrades?

Thank you.

Hi there!

Have you looked the rest of the numbers already on the database ?  I am sure, that there must something of use listed.

I'm surprised that c/s don't transfer you.

Failing that, you can wait until office hours and ring the switchboard and ask for dept you are after.

You may also get a better deal if you threaten to leave and take your number to another network in which case ask for Online Contract PAC (Port Authorising Code) code Dept because you wish to leave o2.

You may also wish to visit relevant MSE articles here and here.

Also, if you aren't that bothered about a new handset then o2 Online are doing a double mins & text SIM-only contract which is very good value with only a 30day minimum contract only.  For more info visit here.

I have tried several numbers from the database and they all just said " Sorry we only deal  with tariffs bought instore yours is an online one."

The only reason I want an upgrade is because signal is playing up as I said on MSE forum Smiley.

I'm happy with my tariff so in away don't want to ask for anything else incase I shoot myself in the foot as it were.

I shall try c/s again and ask if they will transfer me failing that I'll try the switch board.

Thank you people.

I'm trying to upgrade on o2 myself, and I run into the same problem that online upgrades seem to require a separate department, and nobody will transfer me. They all give the same number to use - 0870 600 7102.

Does anybody know where o2 online are based, as that might allow a better choice of the geographical numbers. Even when I got my online security number resest, and there was an ipgrade option, I was told I had to call the number above as it is a separate department. Only tip I was given by the operater I spoke to was to put in option 2, then option3 to skip the menus and take me straight to the department I required.

Hi.

To the person also trying to upgrade. I rang my local o2 store the other day and asked about upgrading in store. They said they can do it even though its an online tariff. I haven't tried for it yet so not sure if they will or not. I'll probably go there within the next week or two I'll let you know how I get on. I was also told to *push* for the phone I want and look around on the net to see if there was one I liked and just be insistant or threaten to leave. Like I say I will let you know how it goes.
