Freesat from Sky
Aug 26th, 2005 at 11:26am

Hi, The Sky Freesat number on this site does not work they will not place your call to the correct department. The 0870 number is 08706-061111 the best way to call this number is to use '18185' calls to 0870 cost 4p a minute plus a 4p connection charge. My 11 minute call to Sky Freesat cost me 48p including VAT using this service (checked invoice on-line) . It would have been closer to a £1.00 using BT and most other service providers. To top it all you have to call another 0870 number to activate the card.

Hi there!

Have you tried the other numbers on the database ?  Tried the freephone numbers etc or even the number for Eire 00353 818719819.  If you phoned the number for Eire and used OneTel / 18866 you would have been charged 2p per minute.  The Eire number is diverted back to the UK & not even the Fresat / Sky staff would even know whats going on.  Ask to be put through, remember, if you do ask, you do not get!

Hi, Yes I first tried the Disney free phone number, they would not put me through. I then tried 0207-7053000 without success. In fact when I complained about the 0870 number the guy said that he knew all about 'saynoto0870' and the money newsletter. The Disney number has always worked in the past for most Sky problems but not this time with Freesat.

Have you tried the number in Eire 00353 818719819 - this routes to Sky via Eire ?  Ask to be transfered.

Edited:
This is a 0818, the Irish equivalent of 0870 so will be expensive from the UK.

Huh  www.freesatfromsky.co.uk gives an 08702405651 number.  I have tried ringing Sky Digital geographical numbers shown on this website, but they just tell me they have to give me the number for that department as they cannot transfer me.  Of couse they say they only have an 0870 number!    Can anyone help please?

Hi, I have been down this road some time go, long chats with Sky on their freephone number but no deal. It seems that Sky Freesat is a different company to Sky, your best bet is to use 18185 at 4p a minute. BTW If you have Sky+ you cannot use Sky Freesat, it will not work. Sky Freesat told me this after I had two cards sent to me which would not work.

I think the Republic of Ireland number mentioned above is Ireland's equivalent of 0870, and last time I tried calling one of those via 18185 it was charged at a higher rate than regular Irish landline numbers.

I wonder why...

0818 - Universal Access (similar to personal numbering).

Sounds like they are just as bad as other companies in the UK...
