18185 anomaly
Sep 28th, 2005 at 11:56am

Hi,
I've tried to use 18185 a couple of times recently for 0870 numbers.   For some reason, I didn’t get the recorded “4p per minute”, but got straight through to the called party.
When checking my ‘bill’ I found no record of the call.
I have obviously used my normal B.T service for these calls.
Does anyone know what’s happening either with 18185 or whether I did something wrong ?
I use 2/3 of these services for different calls and have not come across it before.
all the best

you need to wait for the telco data to propogate over.
I know it takes 24-36 hours from BT to get to talktalk (then they add phantom calls).

mc661 Finarea systems are so high tech that chargeable calls are shown straight away.  I agree that on my BT online account I can only view dialled calls one day later but Finarea calls do not go through the BT routing or billing platform.

I would suggest Furkin needs to also register for BT online billing and their View Recent Calls facility and then the next day check if calls not billed to 18154 were instead billed on his BT account.

Although if no one is billing him for these calls what I would say is shhhuuuuuusshhhhhhhhh. Wink  Its not going to last for long if you go round telling everyone about it.  Roll Eyes  Finarea may be reading these posts. Shocked

Has it worked before? Or since the beginning, you've never been billed for these calls?
2 days after, have you now checked to see if you were billed by BT??? If not, this is a gift.
Has someone else who has 18185 on his line checked if calls to 0870 and other special numbers are not charged/billed????
