Right, in our rooms at uni, are phone service is provided by Dog N Bone, we buy prepaid cards to make calls, etc etc.

But for people to ring in they have provided everyone with a 0870 number thats unique, the last digits match up to your room number etc.

Does anyone know the normal landline numbers for these, or a way of finding out. If you ring say my mobile it saids caller withheld etc.

I will post my number when I get back if that helps.

As per Tanllan's post, can we have more information please? There are already several threads on university accommodation, some of which include a mention of Dog 'n' Bone Zone.

After some reading its not dog n bone who provide the 0870 its the uni, as its their phone system.

Dog N Bone just do external calls, so there must be some way of working out the true numbers as its all linked to the uni system

All numbers start with 0114 225 XXXX at the uni

I'm sure the lines all start with 0870 1707 XXX, is extenstion

I have tried dialing 01144 225 2441, and that doesn't seem to work, thought it would have as room extenstion is 2441 and you can dial any room in the block, and also other numbers like 888 our security and 2000 site office

its 0114 204 then ext. number.

So this number can be added for student accomodation at SHU. it works at charlotte Court, and should be the same or similar for the other places
