SAYNOTO0870.COM - More Than Car Insurance

Does anyone know of a geographical number which can be used? There is one More Than geographical number (not specifically for claims from outside UK) listed on the main page to SayNoto0870: 01179937800 but I have found this to be unobtainable.

I have MoreTHan car insurance and all the numbers are 0800 numbers, can you not use these?
There is a number "cover for driving abroad" 0800 300285 on page 14 of my "complete guide to car insurance policy"

Have also found on page 32 of the same booklet,
"if you need emergency assistance please call 0800 300988"
"if you need emergency assistance outside the UK, please call +(44)845 6012906" This will be an 0845 number when the 44 is replaced with 0, not geo but cheaper than 0870.

This took two calls and various Indian call centre operators who didn't really understand what I was trying to explain about the 08** problem !! Undecided

The numbers they gave me were Claims Services - +44 845 6002666 & Accident Services - +44 845 6012906

After A LOT of badgering of the supervisor at the Indian call centre, explaining that contrary to what he had been told, 08** numbers were NOT accessible from all European countries just by adding +44 (& removing the 0), I managed to get UK numbers to the service centres required.

Motor Services (Emergency) are based in Newcastle on

0191 522 2246

Claims Services are based in Bristol on

0117 993 7580

Just to say that I haven't tested them yet so please advise us if they work OK, but DON'T FORGET to put the 141 in front of them to block your number (if you try them from UK) !! Roll Eyes

Thank you for unearthing the Bristol and Newcastle geographic numbers both of which I can confirm are active More Than numbers.

On being told that the call was for information, the vague advice from the Bristol number on phoning about a claim from abroad seemed to be to try phoning the 0870 number and possibly ask to be rung back or to try to get to 0800 300 252 (Main claims line).

I think a real claim to the Bristol number will be needed to see if it will be possible to use that number to get to someone who can handle the claim.

I can confirm that the number 0800 072 4186, shown as an alternative to 0844 854 8865 (which is the number quoted on renewal documents) in the Unverified Numbers Database, works perfectly for this purpose. I haven't tried the other 0800 number given. There is also a hanging entry for the 0844 number which contains no alternative number.

This 0800 number also matches 0800 300220, so I've made it the main alternative with 0800 072 4186 as secondary.
