Reassure Mobile Phone Insurance
Dec 17th, 2005 at 6:39am

Anyone know the geographical no. for Reassure Mobile Phone Insurance:

0870 4427970 - PO Box 116, Ryde, Isle of Wight, PO33 2WX

They are the insurance arm for Phones4U. I recently bought a mobile phone through one of their websites and even though I have made it clear specifically that I did not want the insurance, they still arranged it for me anyway. Now I have to ring this number to get it cancelled.

how are you paying for the insurance?

Did you sign anything to say you wanted the insurance?
If No just ignore them and cancel the Direct Debits and stuff. Send a letter to your bank explaining why (add in words like fruadlent, misleading).

You dont need to phone up the 0870 if you didnt ask for the insurance and didnt sign anything to say you did.

I ordered the phone via the Cool New Mobile website. At the checkout page, it says 'Please tick the following box if you do not want the 3 months free insurance'. I therefore ticked the box and I was absolutely certain that I read the instruction and ticked it.

I think that you may find that they are "Trying it on" by getting you to cancel it after the Free 3 months, even though you ticked to say you didn't want it.

If I were you, I would do as mc661 advises and ignore them if you never asked for it

Personally I would also go to the website & find their email address and send them a snotty message that you didn't ask for the insurance, free or not, that you have NO intention of continuing it, and you can threaten to cancel the direct debit if they continue to hassle you about it.

Keep notes and copies of messages sent just in case it comes to a court case but I think they will probably relent & stop annoying you before it comes to that.
