I understand the point of principle and irritation.  I suspect that companies like these may make a lot of money cumulatively banking on people not bothering to waste their time (understandably) on pursuing modest or derisory amounts.  You might consider taking up the issue with the credit card company, assuming the sums taken were not authorised.  No legal duty or responsibility is or will at any time be owed or assumed to you.  This is just an informal suggestion.  You should obtain your own legal advice.
