08709000311 (Read 9,373 times)

Maybe worth trying those.

As bigjohn says, please come back with more useful information to work with instead of expecting us to use our crystal balls. Roll Eyes

Also, please use the 'modify' option on the OP to change the title to something more meaningful. I have no idea who 08709000311 are and I have no intention of ringing to find out.

1. I did in fact read the 'Guide to ....' first and followed it in so as far as I understood it, which perhaps was not far enough, but my searches produced no results

2. I did not realise that putting the number in the Subject line would be considered inappropriate, nor did I realise that my request would look like a riddle

3. I have used this site a couple of times with success in the past but am still a newbie ------ some of us take a little longer than others to get the hang of things, dont you know

4. Rather than test your patience again and provoke further discourtesy I will make my enquiries elsewhere this time Cry

Please don't do that. It's just that we cannot find information based on no information. You haven't said who it is or why you want to contact them. We are not going to ring it to find out and we don't have a list of what each 0870 number does.

Can you tell us what the number is for? Ie, company, address, reason for contacting, website etc. Also, when you mentioned a "BT number", did you actually mean a number starting 01 or 02 rather than a way of contacting BT?

The number was announced at the end of a BBC2 TV programme 'The Romantics' as a source of a booklet on the subject and at the time of posting I had no other info, including who the organisation is to whom the number relates (eg. it could be a publisher, or the Open University rather than BBC) . However, I have now found info on the programme via Google and have been able to order via the website without using the 0870 number.

Sorry, my confusion continues somewhat! I should also have said that at the time of posting I had got the number muddled up with a billing number for BT Broadband / Anytime, which I received in an email, and which I have not found in any of the various lists of BT service numbers. I have just set up BT Wireless Broadband in the past few days and although finally successful my brain is still spinning somewhat (although unlike some irate posters on other Forums I found the 'New Delhi helpline' OK).

The BT number, from which I am supposed to get an explanation of what has happened with my Dialup subscription payment now it has been replaced by Broadband is 0870 241 4567.
