Google has a facility which gives you definitions of words from various sources. Into the search line, enter:
define:<search term>

Note the colon.

For example:
define:voip

Clicking the green link under each definition takes you to the site where it comes from. It also works for any other words, so it can be quicker than checking the dictionary.

Am grateful to you, Dave, for your "define:" tip.

Did look on GOOGLE (without "define").  After delfing through a dozen or so entries, took the easy way out and started this thread.  With your help, it quickly provided the answer.

Thanks again.

Although, if you want the full monty, simultaneously checking 1001 dictionaries on http://www.onelook.com/ works well.
