Have tried the non-verified geo (0151 4327838)altenative to 0870 4449929 for stoves plc Merseyside L35 2XW, but a recorded message says No. changed to the the 0870 No.
Has anyone found their new geo No? I have had no joy in my searches.

The website for Stoves Plc is www.stoves.co.uk.

A search for Stoves in Liverpool on 192.com reveals two entries at the same address:

STONEY LANE
WHISTON PRESCOT MERSEYSIDE
L35 2XW

One has the 0870 you quote and the other is 0151 4266551. Both have the fax number 0151 4327869. This is close to 0151 4327838, so I've tried nearby numbers. It turns out that this company has a whole host of 0870 numbers, and that alot of 0151 43278xx numbers have messages referring to various 0870 numbers.

As you can see, this company is really out to make some £££ from its 0870 numbers, not to mention having some of its 0151 numbers standing 'idle' with 0870 referrers.

What does each 0870 do? Are they all for different products?

From this list, try 0151 4327832, 41 and 42. Or, if your enquiry is about Glen Dimplex, use 74.

Just got this back from stoves. My message first

I would like to talk with you to discuss your products. However my telephone provider does not allow 0870 numbers to be included in my package. And to talk to you for 7.5p per minute, to only be connected to your landline is of no interest to me. Do you have a proper number that I can call you on in my time? A prearranged call back from you would not work due to my working schedule.

Obviously Sue doesn't realise, or doesn't want to, that 0870 goes to a landline anyway.
Their loss.

According to 192.com, they only have an 0870 number (hmm... wonder why it has changed to 0871... ). Anyway, it would appear that their fax number is 0151 426 3261. In terms of area code, that matches the one given for the service line.

Googling Stoves+"0151 452" returns another number - 0151 432 7947. That is apparently their service line, but whether or not that would work now I don't know.

Also, it would appear that 0151 426 6551 is/was their switchboard/contact number - you could also try that and see if you can get through.

Please report back whether or not the numbers work, and if you have any luck obtaining an alternative.

When they ring you back, could you try and get a geographic out of them?
