the majority of people posting on this website continue to be CUSTOMERS... VERY DISATISFIED CUSTOMERS, who have been lied to over and over again, ripped off, shafted... you choose the venacular that suits... i went to the Huddersfield office and was treated abominably by Jenny and co... very aggressive people, especially her. i can see why she defends these people, i doubt very much that she could be employed elsewhere... in any normal business.

Can anyone tell me who Nationwide at Home used to buy their kitchen units from? I have been contacted by a dissatisfied customer and I am trying to complete his installation. I need some additional units for Boston Cream kitchen.

Has anyone been in touch with IPWFI? I received a letter from them today saying the tear off slip at the bottom of the deposit protection certificate hasn't been handed in to them. They also said they had not been made aware the Matthew Thomas Installations/Nationwide had ceased trading. I find this astounding given the amount of people that must have been in touch with them over the past couple of weeks..

Trading standards are supposed to be meeting with the "directors" on Monday to discuss things with them. I have asked them to ask the question "What did they do with the tear off slips and why they didn't send them off". Surely the fact they didn't send any in to the IPWFI should be proof enough that they have taken every ones money without any intentions of carrying out the work. Undecided

Does anyone know if the meeting went ahead yesterday between Trading Standards and the directors of Nationwide? I have rung my local TS (Lancs) today but they couldn't give me any new info.

Please be aware!!!!

LIFESTYLE NORTH LTD trading at:-
1-3 Carlton Chambers
Carlton Grove
off Kings Cross Street
Halifax
HX15SH

IS owned by Robin Harrison, ex director and con man extraordianire of Nationwide Windows and Conservatories. They are again conning sales persons to sell UPVC windows on their behalf. Also involved in this scam is Alex Grantham, previously sales manager with Nationwide Windows and Conservatories, and Partner in Crime on Portugese Holidays which they went on regularly with Phillip Hill. It is believed Phillip Hill has also set up another Kitchen business trading address unknown.

Please note Jenny Murphy who was PA to Phil Hill at Nationwide was believed to be responsible for a lot of the fraud involved. She phoned people up asking them to give balance of money for jobs required and they would come and fit the following day or week and never turned up to fit installations. One woman personally known was conned out of £3300, this being an elderly lady in her seventies. So most of the senior office staff knew exactly what was going on. Sales persons concerned were in all genuinity totally unaware of the above scams. Salesmen were never given information on their installations sold and what the outcome was. I know of at least two salespersons who were conned of more than £7000 between them. Not only have hundreds, perhaps thousands, of genuine hard working people been conned, but do not forget the salesforce who now knowing what was going on feel utterly devastated and cannot be blamed in any way at all. This has got to be taken a lot further and all persons knowingly involved in this scam should be hounded and made to pay for the distress caused to a lot of genuine people.

how difficult can it be for all the seperate trading standards people to get together and shut these people down once and for all?? surely the people in the same trade ie suppliers must have blacklisted them by now??

Please note that the official receiver has now been appointed for Mathew Thomas Installations which we all know as Nationwide.

Peter O'Hara is the contact name.
Tel: 01924 477449

If you are a former member of staff you will be entitled to some pay from the government as long as you worked there for at least a month, if you worked there over 2 years you may be entitled to redundancy pay.

As for customers please call the above number and register as a creditor, if you don’t and there is money you won’t get a bean, you have nothing more to lose.

According to the site and guess it is accurate as it is a government site, (but who knows?!!)  on the statutory redundancy pay table you have to have worked for two years to qualify for redundancy. However it would be worth checking with your local C.A.B. first in case it has changed.

Ive just been informed by Trading standards in Manchester that Mobile Kitchens and Better Kitchens are contacting people promising to finish off work that Nationwide started. This is a con, these two companies are run by the same no marks as Nationwide Kitchens and windows etc.... so BEWARE DONOT LET THESE PEOPLE RIP YOU OFF TWICE....!!! THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND NOT COMPLETE... SAME OLD SONG... DIFFERENT COMPANY TITLE...

Watching a film on Channel 4 this afternoon, I notice that they are advertising their wares under Nationwide Home Improvements I thought they had gone down under, or at least under this name.

we have on the 17 /10 /2007 paid a deposit of £265 for patio doors, from nationwide home improvements, from a very pleasant guy called John Kay, we are in Dunfermline in Fife and he is based in Kennoway in Fife. he promised our doors would be fitted within 4 to 5 weeks which included building warrant. my partner after no one returning our calls decided to contact Fife council to see where we were on the building warrant, to find it had not been applied for, that was today 30th november. John Kay phoned us back today after us leaving a message to cancel to say he had been intouch with his boss, but would not give us his name, and said that the doors would be fitted within the next couple of weeks after building warrant comes through. I wish we had checked this company out before signing anything as I feel that we have lost our deposit I have his address, phone no and email address, yet still find it hard to get him to reply. dont know what to do now but wait and see if the doors appear. thank you for bringing this company to our attention.
