to all viewers,

i am happy to announce that i have just had another part of my job completed by nationwide windows and conservatories, although it has taken alot of calls and i gave up on tring to contact jon noble, however, the lady that has tried to resolve alot of issues is aware that her phone number is in circulation and as you can imagine is clearly distressed bt this, can i plz point out to others that this lady deals with installations and is no way responsible for any delays or problems that occur thru the office, plz continue to try and track down md's or jon noble if you must but plz do not harass the other staff as they actually dont have any control over what is done, i know for a fact that this lady was being told by her manager that he had rang me and resolved issues when he didnt

Hi all!  Just to let you know that I met with both directors this morning and I no longer have a grievance with them.  I have been given an acceptable explanation regarding my problem and am very happy with the outcome.  They were both very pleasant and understanding and I'm sure if you contact either of them they will be able to sort out any of your difficulties.  You won't be hearing from me again - so take care, be happy, and have a nice life!  Viv

Hi all...

I have been having a nightmare with this company since the end of April.

Basically their sales team spin you a pack of lies - like being fensa registered and having their own installations staff - they use subbies.

I am in the sitiuation where my house is sold subject to contract and I can't move on this - I don't have a fensa certificate and I won't get one unless the sealed units have safety glass in them where it should be.

They don't return calls, make promises they can't keep. I've been in touch with trading standards who had a meeting with them last week. The situation aparently should have been rectified today. No joy.  I've visited their offices three times. What a sham. You end up leaving, by being fobbed off.  I suspect thats what your going to end up with Viv. So don't hold your breath.

Thankfully I purchased the window installation through GE money, and they are dealing with it now also. They are as responsible for the work as the supplier - something I didn't know until now.

But I do have to inform trading standards if they don't resolve the situation. I will keep you all posted. But my advice to anyone is not to touch this company with a barge pole as it were - unless you want sleepless nights.

Hi
To my amazement I have found other individuals who have had dealings with nationwideathome windows and conservatories. I have been trying to get this company to re-imburse my parents deposit for double glazed windows for the last 4 months. My parents are both pensioners and were taken in by the promotional offer of the gift vouchers and duly paid a cash deposit 25% of the contract value to a representitive of this company namely a Mr Nigel Fleetwood. I was overseas at the time and upon arrival back in the UK my parents expressed their concerns on proceeding with the order. The order / contract was formally cancelled in writing within 4 days however repeated calls and correspondence to the companies listed contacts Mr Nigel Fleetwood Sales Consultant
Mr Alex Gtaham Manager at the following address:
Nationwide Windows & Conservatories
Unit 20
Beck Road
Huddersfield
England
HD1-5DG
Have met with no response. I was searching the internet for additional background /information on this company and was very surprised when I came across this web page. I am very grateful to those individuals who have taken the time and effort to post their experieances. I read with interest the comments and like others before me I was planning on making a personel visit to this companies office in Huddersfield but I noted that they may also have a base / office in Cheshire. If anyone can confirm this and perhaps provide contact names / addresses I would be very grateful.
Thx in advance

Hi

I am another dissatisfied customer of this cowboy operation who has fallen victim to this scam.  They have a considerable sum of my money and have left me with no kitchen and apparently no prospect of getting one.  My experiences are the same as everybody else on this site and the names qoted and stories told are all familiar to me. I will be pursuing this company for return of my money.  I have logged a complaint with trading standards and written to the company by recorded delivery. Consumer Direct (DTi) have offered to look into this but I suspect they won't be able to help much.  I will be issuing a summons and contacting the media to see if they can bring this company to the public attention.  I am advised they've already been featured by the BBC but it wont do any harm to re-open that debate.  Happy to join up and trade tips with others in the same boat.

By the way, what did happen to Vivienne?

Hi Debs

I've just had a call from Trading Standards and although they are continuing to look into this they have confirmed that Nationwide, in it's various forms, do have a long history of unpaid county court judgements against the managing director - Mr Hill. By bringing a summons against them I would only be adding myself to a very long list of other people with a claim against them but it would be worth it just to make me feel better.  All depends how much it would cost.

Looks like the BBC programme might be the best bet, if only to warn others not to fall into the same trap us we did.  I have written to Watchdog and our local press.  Just waiting to see if anything comes of it.

In answer to Madgal's comment regarding court costs please fee the below, its very cheap and very easy, and can be done online at www.moneyclaim.gov.uk
up to £300      £30
£300.01- £500      £45
£500.01- £1,000      £65
£1,000.01- £1,500      £75
£1,500.01- £3,000      £85
£3,000.01- £5,000      £108
£5,000.01- £15,000      £225

But the best way to deal with this outfit in my opinion is to make all the directors Bankrupt, the down side is that in doing that you can kiss goodbye to the money they owe you as they have no assets to sell so on paper they have nothing, the costs to make a company bankrupt i think are as follows

Petition deposit of £400 towards the costs of administration of the bankruptcy -
this is a one-off payment towards the costs of the bankruptcy, and if the
bankruptcy has enough assets, the petition deposit will be refunded to you

Court fee of £190.

Any costs for instructing a solicitor.

We know that Nationwide are checking this feed, and hope they understand how many people are angry at the way they have been treat, the question is what would they do if we all turned up on there doorstep one day and invited the press and TV to be there to witness unhappy customers demanding either the work they have paid for or a full refund, this could happen, or worse case could be a mob of people turning up at a directors house one night, how would they feel about that.

I do not condone violence on any level, but as many people now know the pesonal details of the Directors this is a possibility, Carma what goes around comes around, I HOPE YOU HEAD THIS WARNING NATIONWIDE DIRECTORS ROBIN,PHIL.
