BT Shop (www.shop.bt.com)
Jul 10th, 2006 at 5:32pm

I have searched the B.T. (British Telecom) website in order to escalate an issue I was experiencing with one of their acquired subsidiary companies (DABS). In view of the urgency of the issue - it involved a transaction that I had paid for - it was urgent enough for me to articulate the issue as I was fed up communicating with a computer. However, I was suspicious when I found the tele number offered was an NG 0870. I thought , as a BT Customer, that the 8p/min charge would enable access to the highest authority... wishful thinking of course. So I looked at this website (info. courtesy of 'WHICH') but could not get a match. I telephoned anyway and indignantly requested the 'authoriative voice' that I had requested, to telephone me back. I stated my business and asked the representative to take ownership of the problem. He said all the right things and even telephoned me back. I should have known just how serious he was when he stated that he had a handle on the issue and would call me back tomorrow - Saturday. It never happened! I suspect it was a dreaded 'help desk' Does anyone know an alternative to  0870 2430126 - I want to make some further enquiries before I go to the 'Big Boys'

BT CEO - ben.verwaayen@bt.com

He does read e-mails and gets an underling to deal - quickly (the only time I had to e-mail him ended, 23 hours later, in the matter being resolved).

After years of ignoring govt. guidelines & RIPPING OFF Council Tax payers using 0845 numbers, Essex County Council changed to 0345 numbers on 2 November 2015

OK, so it's the BT Shop that we're trying to find a number for. On the terms and conditions page it gives BT's VAT number and makes no indication of an outside company providing the service. I thought that there was some connection to WithandWithoutWires.com, but I must have been mistaken. The only connection seems to be that user guides for BT's cordless phones mention them. Undecided

Do you have an address for BT Shop?

Thanks Heinz. I am happy to inform the CEO of my perceptions.
Dave, I do not have the address of the BT shop. On reflection, it may be in Ireland where most telecall outsourcing has been located by some UK businesses. I thought I detected an accent from the persons to whom I spoke.

The number entered into the database for BT Shop Customer Services is 0800 0856161. Please let us know how well it works.
