The Woolwich Glasgow Mortgage Processing Centre
Jul 14th, 2006 at 1:53pm

Does anyone have the geographical number for a firm the Woolwich Mortgage Processing Centre?

Getting a mortgage was easy and it seemed like a good deal.  Then they deducted a crafty £35 (on a £100,000 mortgage), for sending the money to my solicitor.  No mention if this charge beforehand and now they want me to pay to make an 0870 phone call to complain!

So you know it is in Glasgow, do you have the full address?

Also, what is the 0870 number that you are seeking an alternative to?

Try 01322 426070, hide your number using 141, be nice and tell them that you've been having difficulty contacting them.  You might be lucky and be put in the queue.  You will however be lucky if you manage to speak to someone !!!.

I'm involved with residential conveyancing and recently received money from The Woolwich with no name of the borrower.  No one here claimed the money.  Phoned Woolwich and was put in a queue.  Enquired in my office again and identified the borrower.  It was found that the mortgage had been sent 2 days early.  Put the phone down on The Woolwich and found that we had been on the phone to them for over 30 minutes and no answer.  This was the second time of contacting them, the first time, they would not tell me the name of their customer "data protection act", tried to put me through to another department and cut me off !!.

As for the £35, this deduction is not always clear to the conveyancers (neither is the date of the funds transfer).  I suggest that you check to see the date that the transfer was made and compare it to the date that The Woolwich charge their interest from.  BTW between the date of the funds transfer and the date of the completion, the money still belongs to The Woolwich and it is being held by your conveyancer on their behalf.
